Default If a Customer Were to Ask You

Why is your Cypher or Black so expensive, how would you answer them?

You get what you pay for. It's not $100 worth of fillers, it's the best that's out there to help you produce more melanin (for Cypher).

I tell my customers that there are 10 different grades of every ingredient and the 100$ bottles all have the grade a+ ingredients and the 20$ bottles have the grade z ingredients. Seems to work for me. Thats what I was told a lotion seminar.

Better grade of ingredients and more of them. Usually sums it up.

All of the above and then I tell them to buy a packet and see for themselves. If they love it and buy the bottle that same day I'll take off the price of the packet.

" when you start adding quality ingredients into the lotion such as anti aging, firming, etc. That you can only usually find in luxury skin care lines you would purchase at nordstroms or macys, the price is a reflection of that. Lotion is truly a get what you pay for item. I personally only use the best because I want to still look awsome when I am 40 and I want people to see me and think wow she tans and skin looks great! Will that be cash, or credit card today?"

Preventative maintenance is always better then trying to figure out what to do with your skin when it's too late. Use a quality lotion and have youthful glowing skin in your future instead of getting botox and surgery to temporarily reverse your skin later.

If you don't care what you look like in the future...then the $20 lotion will do.

It's simple:

They are paying for a cool bottle and lots of marketing hype.

Lotion has not changed much in 10 years but the standard discount for salons is now 50% so a lotion that was $50 retail (without discounts) is now $100 retail so manufacturers can make the same profit as when it was $50.... period.

The you get what you pay for theme is total BS.

The ingredients have not changed that much. If you think they are using only the best then ... I have a bridge to sell you.

Silicone emulision is cheaper to make than Aloe Vera based products.

So if I'm considering buying lotion from GSK Resources I should only buy the cheapest shit you sell?

Of course Greg would say that. But somehow HIS will be better or different.

To say there's no difference between Brown Envy and Cypher is retarded.

Well Greg....sex sells.....and if the bottle looks and smells sexy, then it's gonna sell.

If it looks like a $2.00 upside-down shampoo bottle, then that's what it's worth.

I agree with you on the lotion thing...that they are all pretty much the same. In fact, some of the best lotions like JA from like 10 years ago are far superior than what's out there now.

If you have a great, fresh scent, with no ATO, that applies well (pretty much 90% of lotions do...) and gives decent results...then throw it in a nice bottle and sell it for top dollar.

We know it only costs $1.40 to make.....that's for all lotions. I have a customer that actually developed Caltan lotions many many moons ago as Caltan is just a marketing company and didn't create anything themselves. My customer's lab in California did a few of their lotions. That is also why he won't pay my price for lotions as he developed them and sold them to Caltan (bottled, labelled) finished product for $1.40.....

Things have obviously changed since then, and i'm sure they have their own chemists...maybe....developing their goo. So now maybe it costs them $1.60 with inflation.

The point is...marketing is what sells your product, not the product itself.

if you can get that in your mind...then the rest is minor.

... what the hell does change? T-shirts have been the same for 50 years, bit of material 4 holes and a label... there all made in sweat shops, doesnt matter where you buy them from or how much you pay does it...they all do the same thing don't they?? Phuk no! You pay for what it looks like and how it makes you feel, just because I spend $100 on a designer label t-shirt does that make me a sucker for not buying one at K-mart for $10??... who cares how cheap silicone emulision is? People pay for the feeling and the experience of it.

The product is worth what consumers are willing to pay for it. How much do you reckon a bottle of perfume actually costs to make? Its just a fragrance and a sexy looking bottle. Put a nice smelling perfume in a bottle that looks like crap and it wont sell for whatever price you put on it... put it in a sexy bottle and all of a sudden its the hottest fragrance of the season.

People need levels in our society its called a 'capitalist' society, consumers want to know there are better products, its what our society strives for. The relative costs of making a product have absoloutley nothing to do with the price people are willing to pay a product.

the entire skin care industry is going towrds preventive rather than corrective.. so pay al ittle now so you dont have to pay big later !
