|  question I have a lot of customers that say "no I will burn" if I ask if they want lotion. I haven't been able to come up with a good response to that besides "I'm not gonna let u burn u moron"....help please

| Hall of Famer Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: dc Posts: 1,296 | Re: question Dry skin reflects UV light and burns where as properly moisturized skin accepts the light more readily and kick starts the tanning process in under a minute vs. 6-7 minutes without an accelerator. Not to mention that properly accelerated skin will also build and hold a tan longer as it's the correct moisture and vitamins and nutrients vs. not using anything. __________________ Jeff |

But how can I convince them that lotion accelorates the tanning process without doing the same with the burning process......I dont know if I'm making sense with this question.  __________________ |

I have read somewhere that an indoor base tan is equivalent to using SPF 20 outdoors where they do burn if out there for longer than 15 minutes without sunscreen. |

Dry skin lets all the higher energy burning ray thru but reflects a lot of the BROWNING RAYS. Moist skin lets the BROWNING rays thru too which is what you are paying for. The ACCELERATOR part of the lotion is like "vitamins for your skin"...it lets the skin make MORE of the BROWN per visit than without it. You either come in less for the same color or come in the same ammount for a darker tan. It has NOTHING to do with increasing the burning of a bed. That is time in the bed ONLY. |
