| Moderator | No you are stupid. This is not a joke and it is not funny. Yes I know I have some that lie and we cannot go in the room with them. Eyewear is a requirement in all my salons. If they want to tan somewhere else that do not require them then go to it. We keep the FDA requirement at the counter at all times. I cannot believe after all the problems we are having with the media about tanning that this post is heading in this direction. __________________ ![]() ![]() ![]() Tel: 706.207.1000 |

I know if I had a problem my boyfriend would tell me so I don't have to worry about walking around looking like a freak and not knowing that. If I go in the booth, I just use winks and it works just as good. When I'm in the bed I rotate the sun globes about half way through the session as well. If you already have the raccoon eyes I like the suggestion of using a lotion with the bronzer in it. Maybe something like DC Glow would be good. Or you could just be comfortable enough with your manhood to go get some make up and use it to cover them. ![]() As far as the people that don't wear eye protection that is obviously your perogative. I wear it so I can honestly say to my customers that I do and because I don't think its worth the risk of what might happen to my eyes if I dont. Whether it could really happen to me, I dont care. My grandmother has gone her whole life smoking and hasn't gotten lung cancer, but that doesn't mean I'm going to pick up smoking. I'm pretty sure my state requires me to make my customers wear them, so I do. __________________ There are always two choices, two paths to take, one is easy, and it's only reward is that it's easy |

| Moderator | By no means should anyone take my advice on this subject as fact. I am not an expert on the subject. I am only saying what I do and what we require in my salons. Everyone should read Brenda`s post and consult your eye specialist before making your decision. __________________ ![]() ![]() ![]() Tel: 706.207.1000 |

(2) Regardless of how many beds Brian has fixed, all the while wearing not protection other then his UV blocking glasses, you should never do as he does. I made this post to find out the solution to raccoon eyes, not get into a debate on whether we should tell customers to ditch their goggles because a very well loved bed doctor told them so. The bottom line is you must instruct your customers to wear eye protection, for no other reason then the law and your insurance policy. __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan |

| All Star Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Fort Wayne, IN Posts: 93 | Alan , I did not mention this, as it doesn't usually apply to guys. BUT any non-tanning moisturizing products, eye treatments such as Oil of Olay, and the expensive stuff we ladies buy at cosmetics counters or from our facial person or our derms...this stuff all has SPF and gives huge raccoon eyes! Ladies wearing makeup are wearing layers of SPF...our eye shadow, concealer, foundation, etc, and that leads to big marks. Alan, obviously the aboves does not apply to you. But I notice some guys spend a lot of time outside in sunglasses golfing or watching their kids play ball, and get big panda eyes from their sunglasses. All good things to keep in mind for reminding our tanners! Brenda |

I guess that I should tell customers when they call for service that I can only fix one bed every other day or every day depending on the bed label to stay in compliance with the FDA as to not tan more then one in a 24 or 48 hour period and you will have to wait until next month for an appointment. ![]() That should go over well. |

I just go to it and solve the problems immediately so I am not really sitting there and getting sunburned and blasting my eyes with hours of UV radiation. |
