| They are also sold in high surf shops as well. My point is that they DO NOT SELL indoor products in any of these stores. They sell their outdoor line only. |

Or someone just call A/G and ask them to come here and post that they are not selling the indoor A/G products to the mass market, like Walmart or Walgreens or a resort. They wont because its in there. |

I always check when I am in the stores. I see AG products all the time. NOT the indoor products. AG does NOT sell indoor products to the mass market. Call them, call Walgreens or go check yourself......they are not there. Enough already! Stop posting things that are not true. |

I have seen one or two sku's of the orginal products from 10 years ago like Gelee. They are two different divisions of the company. They do not sell the indoor lines in retail outlets. Post the pic here! |

The general public sees that name brand in Walmart etc and think, why the hell are you charging so much when I can get it there for $6. It just makes it harder for you to make the sale since you have to try and convince them it isnt the same thing. __________________ |

Second they cannot get it for $6 because the indoor line is not sold in retail outlets. Third if that was the case then why is AG the #1 selling indoor brand? Carry what you want. I believe you can sell just as much of any number of brands in your store. I do not believe one brand is any better then any other brand. I do know I make more money selling the The New Sunshine brands (AG, SB, CT and DS). At the end of the day isn't that why we are in business? |

| Moderator | Didn`t we all know this anyway? Same formula different packaging. Hmmm very interesting. So this is what salon owners from FL are told when they sign their contract? If I were a salon owner from FL there is not way in hell I would carry AG. Would I tell my customers, oh well, we sell AG here in the salon but you can go to Walmart, Public, Walgreens, etc and buy it" . Geeeze. What a rip off. Shame on you Bill Pipp. All along we thought we were special. ![]() |

They carry a couple of sku's of some orginal formulas. Accelerator....sells in the salon for like $14. Who cares, it is their cheapest product! You could not tell you customers to go buy their indoor products at Walmart because they would not have it. Those same customers that are looking for the $10-$15 lotion would not be buying it from you anyway. They would just buy whatever other crap all the retail stores carry throuhout the country. They have never hid the fact that for the last 20 years or so they have been selling their outdoor line in Florida in retail stores. |

| Moderator | Well this person in particular was told they couldnt use the product in their salon since it wasnt purchased in a salon. Then they got this from ETS to prove that it was ok. This salon owner does NOT sell AG at all. Then the salon owner tried to sell chickie a product she DOES sell and got a packette sale out of it. Then chickie went online to buy it. All around a bad problem for salon owners. Every direction you look you are being made to look like you are gouging clients. Bad, bad, bad... __________________ |

I knew people bought from ebay, but did not realize how much. I am trying to figure out how to deal with all of these factors and still make money. While I hate that I didn't research this aspect of owning a tanning salon,I am thankful that before the next busy season, I will not being carrying lotions you can buy on ebay or go to wal-mart and buy.

RobertK, It's ok to say when you're wrong. It's actually very healthy and respectable. Less so when you're still a prick when you're proven wrong. ![]() __________________ Act weird and let 'em wonder. Last edited by aimeekat : 23rd June 2008 at 09:57 AM.

I have said all along they have a couple of sku's! 10-20 year old products from when they first came out. Their cheapest lowend products designed when beds had 12 lamps. My point is simply that the AG indoor product line is not sold in retail. They do have an outdoor product line that is sold in Florida that does have a couple of sku's of non SPF products. These products are their orginal formulas from like 20 years ago. Never changed my story and it still hold true. Go back and read. Last edited by RobertK : 23rd June 2008 at 10:20 AM. |

| Super Star Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: FL Posts: 984 | Nah, Jason, he's making it about WHAT is being sold there. Doesn't matter, does it? Point is that ETS sells AG indoor tanning lotion to Wal-Mart and other discount retailers, which sucks for salon owners, and is a complete stab in the back as far as I'm concerned. I never go into Wal-Mart, so I always figured this to be true. It just floored me to see it in an email from ETS directly. ![]() Now we know the rest of the story and tam_marie got her answer. That is all. ![]() __________________ Act weird and let 'em wonder. |
