Nice PIC and EMAIL... I love it, I am a Sydney hater, wont even attempt to hide it, Supre (love the product, hate the company), bottom line is that you cant support salons, distributors and the industry if you are a walmart whore!!!! or in supre's version, a hair salon whore!!!

Why would I as a salon owner, have anything on my shelf, that a customer can say... "gee thats expensive, I got mine at walmart for $6 bucks, your outrageously priced and a rip-off"... NOT COOL, bottom line is my new policy for the salon is only Salon grade lotions are allowed, and AG is not on my Salon Grade list.

Think of it this way... walmart is not selling same formula with a new label... AG is selling YOU the Salon, Walmarts formula, with a new label and charging you more for it!!

DC and Fiji are the big ones in my salon, very little supre as its not worth competing with the hair salons who sell $5 above cost and the ones who dont even have a tanning bed really piss me off,

by not carrying AG/SB/caltan ect, we get a huge walkin base that come just for our selection of lotion.... everyone else usually has the same crap...(ssshhhh, however, I do like peepers, but dont tell anyone... I have to sneek them into the salon cause the AG nazi's hate that I wont deal with them)

Yea i got rid of Supre when I found out that all the BS about them not selling to beauty was just that BS. The guy who owns the company just opened another company and is going to sell tanning products under a new name. All the same to me.

I should mention that for supre, we did carry the Hempz lotion and hot tan, but since DC came out with Krem no need, now if only Lewis would fast track the DC XXXXX line (hint hint... BIG HINT LEWIS) for a fall release, I could bail on a few of the Fiji lines that are big guy only sellers.

I knew people bought from ebay,but did not realize how much.

I am trying to figure out how to deal with all of these factors and still make money. While I hate that I didn't research this aspect of owning a tanning salon,I am thankful that before the next busy season, I will not being carrying lotions you can buy on ebay or go to wal-mart and buy.

Okay...So if I am choosing lotions...from start....brand new salon...I should check out ebay and make sure it isn't sold on ebay? Is there some where else I should also check to make sure I don't lose sales?

Just do a search on the net in general for tanning lotions. Plug it into Google and you will find TONS of sites selling stuff.

Your only option to anything on the net is Private Label or MRInternational.

Trust me, it's all out there, but SS is less common, so I'll try that for a while. I'm just gonna keep moving around. If I had mad cash I'd be doing MR, but unfortunately I can't buy 6 different lotion by the case right now.

Now I see them popping up on Craigslist as well! It seems that some salons are selling the lotions at their price directly to customers via the web. Not that this in new by any means, but it does not help when you are trying to run a legitimate business

I'd rather not post the link b/c this site is not private and I don't want to encourage that behavior, but there is a salon here in Florida selling tons of DC online kinda like the one in Louisiana mentioned in another thread. Nice huh?

AG in Walmart is bad enuf but wait until you find out that four seasons is selling to your customers at salon cost...that will really piss you off...did me!!!
