Sassy,

feel free to PM me and i will answer any of the questions about Sportarredo.

It's not our philosophy to promote our products attacking our competitors ...

We prefer to compete with the features of our units and trying to improve our level of service "every day", learning from our and other's mistakes.

Regards.

I also know of a couple of salons locally that have had the units for over 7yrs and have had no problems...
Sassy, I would suggest going with different equipment than what other local salons have. It becomes too easy to get into price wars when too many salons have the same equipment. It leaves nothing but the all mighty $$ to set you apart from them. There are plenty other lines of equipment that run mostly free of problems as well.

Insane thread. The ULTRABRONZ was the ORIGINAL HP bed for the modern Era. The 818 was first sold in the USA in 1993 and was manufactured for a decade in Macklesfield England. England is the hometown for USA hp beds and I find it insane that people in England are asking about HP. I know Italy has always been hp but it is only since 2000 that Italy has been a USA player. Short memories from people. Crazy.
my edit...I know HP came from Germany 1978...and France ala Jetsun in the mid 80's..but both just brushed the surface of usa salon purchases...Ultrabronz sold apx 2000 hp beds in usa.)

it is 66% safer than conventional beds due to the use of UVC as opposed to excess UVB..whats your thoughts???

What the phuck?!?

Three pages of posts including HP manufacturers and no one picked up on this?

UVC is a germicidal ray and terminates all living things. It is used in purification and treatment plants. It is detrimental to all biological organisims.

You will never find any tanning bed emmiting UVC.

This article on HP, referrenced in another post, says UVC is emitted by HP lamps. See #5 under "What you should know about High Pressure lamps."

http://www.tan-biz.co.uk/fileadmin/a...nd_article.pdf

It says:

Quote:
5. High Pressure lamps emit UVC radiation which is harmful for humans and therefore they must be operated at all times with appropriate UV glass filters.
Now I'm sure properly constructed lamps and beds see to it that the UVC doesn't make it through to the person tanning, but atleast you can see where someone could get the idea that HP puts out UVC.

I have owned my Mastersun for about 2 months now, and it's the most used bed in the salon. One cannot believe how cool of a session it provides. It looks like a spaceship and causes much guacking and conversation. The bed almost sells itself and when your customers try it, they're hooked. It sure cuts down the waiting time for using the other beds. Come September, I might just have to buy another.

There is a tiny bit of UVC from most all fluorescent tanning lamps at close distance.... a few microwatts that "dies out" or is absorbed by acrylic before it reaches the tanner.

Closed quartz HP "bulbs" emit little UVC but some EU open quartz (industrial quartz) emit more UVC and generally aren't FDA approved in the USA. In either event... the HP glass filters absorb virtually all UVC the bulbs may be putting out.

Any doubts you can check UVC with a Model 8.0:

The big 1543 on meter would be from a germacidel lamp. For tanning lamps it would read way down around 005 close to lamps and 000-001 at body position.... a negligible amount.

There are a lot of claims regarding a safer tanning bed. The truth is that anytime you are altering the condition of the skin, there are risk. If what you are referring to reduced UVB being a safer way to tan, than yes there are options. The new Tan America HP system will have options that will allow you to decide on which filter glass you prefer. You can get the system with almost no UVB emitted or a system with a little more UVB emitted. Personally I believe the system with some level of UVB is the best. Responsible use of tanning equipment is the key for reducing risk.

I have the King 420 and it performs amazing. It's my most used tanning bed over the VHOR and the Base beds and the 200W Stand up.

The Contoured acrylic has no problems holding up the Heffers 300lbs, Tested and passed many times over. The contoured acrylic makes the customer feel very comfortable and minimizes pressure points as the weight is distributed more evenly across the surface.

Hot spots can be eliminated as the lamps are each adjustable separately with 8 levels of adjustability per lamp and can be fine tuned. To have no hot spots.

The look of the King is amazing and I recommend it to anyone. We also have a Sunsport Platinum at our other location which is mattress and is obviously more comfortable, but most business people don't want to spend a lot of time in a salon. 12 minutes is the perfect amount of time as 20 is too long for most and 7 is too short for most.

Tanned on the Matrix but find that it's more of a VHOR bed on steroids and can burn people easier. Be careful with that one. It can't be sold as a true HP bed but more as the ultimate upgrade to the standard beds.

Chronos looks like a chicken rotisserie even though I don't doubt that it tans well.

The King and the Magic I think have the best looks for Marketing your HP bed on Flyers, Price lists, Advertising and will bring people in. The Tan will then speak for itself and keep them coming back for more.

See picture of Chronos before and after photo's of RONCO's HP rotisserrie.

It does Tan very well......see the customers tan above....LOL

Just kidding....you gotta admit it does look like one of RONCO's inventions.

Just set it and forget it.
