Default Infrared Sauna

What are your thoughts on the Infrared Saunas? I have a spare room and was pondering the thought. Has anyone herd anything good or bad?

I have spoke to a couple of customers who have them and they seem to do well from what they were relaying to me (I helped them connect them to the T-Max timers to control them from the T-Max Manager).

I purchased a single person laydown infra-red sauna for my wife about three years ago. Usually I would not do that as these kind of things tend to get purchased then not used. But with my wifes health problems I was willing to give just about anything a try (infrared sauna people claim infrared saunas have all kinds of health benefits).

I have to admit it was a good purchase in the fact that she still uses it (as opposed an an exersize machine that now makes a good cloths rack:-). I don't know about the health benefits but at least she still uses and enjoys it.

Just my 2 cents.

Asked this very same question elsewhere, it's recommended you have showers. piff that can be a huge expense if you don't have them already.

I have a 6-person infrared sauna in my home and it is awesome. We have thought about acquiring one for the salon; however, as stated, the logistics can be tricky and potentially expensive. The upside is that they are less expensive to operate.

I have one of these getting ready to set it up. It's currently in a box in the back of the salon. I got it because I broke my neck and back in a snowmobile accident a few years ago and suffer back pain and figured even if I didn't make much money off it, I could still use it. I have two bathrooms in my salon and thought about turning one into a shower area but I don't think you necessarily need a shower per say. I've used these sauna's and didn't want to shower immediately after because I wanted the warmth to stay in my bones and muscles. I think if you supplied wet towels that would be sufficient. I will be setting mine up soon so I can let you know but here in Michigan with the cold weather, I have a feeling the sauna will go over well. We'll see.
