Default Tan America LED Light Therapy

LED light therapy is becoming mainstream in the tanning industry. LED light therapy has been used for many years and has proven to be very effective. A key to the effectiveness is having the light treatment as close to the area being treated as possible. When choosing the most effective system, measure the distance between the canopy surface and the bench surface. The closer the more effective results will be achieved. The process is refereed to as LED CLOSE LIGHT THERAPY

The low pressure lamps that are being used in the new systems is picking up the out-put in the same nanometer range as the LED lights that are so effective. Systems where the lights are further away from you are less effective than the systems where the lights are very close to the face and body.

Many companies now offer these systems. Tan America offers the Believe system. We all use the same technology. Used and marketed properly this type of system will provide a viable additional source of income. Go to this site and view the video about TA's new Believe. TanAmerica

The ETS Rejuvasun with Omnilux technology unit is to my knowledge the only tanning bed with light therapy that has clinical studies and data to back up it's claims. We do not all use the same technology.

So what is a good way to sell this in a tanning salon?

Let us ruin your skin over here with tanning?
Then repair it for more money over here with LED Skin Therapy?

Kind of walking a fine line.....

John, are you saying that tanning in moderation ruins one's skin? I am not familiar with any studies that prove moderate tanning "ruins" a person's skin.

Tanning inside or out, does help to accelerate the aging process. Almost all types of lamps have UVA˛ which breaks down collagen & elastin in the skin.

There are plenty of studies on this. This one from University of Maryland.

Quote:
Processes Leading to Wrinkles. Even small amounts of UV radiation trigger the processes that can cause wrinkles:

Sunlight damages collagen fibers (the major protein that gives structure to the skin). Sunlight also causes accumulation of abnormal elastin (the protein that causes tissue to stretch) in the skin.
In response to this sun-induced elastin accumulation, the body produces large amounts of enzymes called metalloproteinases . One study indicated that when people with light to moderate skin color are exposed to sunlight for just 5 - 15 minutes, the metalloproteinase levels in their body remain high for about a week.
Skin wrinkles and blemishes

I do think these are a great additions to salons, especially the ones that incorporate the whole unit.

However maybe Roy or Stephen can give some sales tips for salons.

Red LED clusters put out between 70-100 mW/cm˛ at face position (about 1" distance) depending on the MFGR.

RED fluorescent lamps are typically lower... in the 10-20 mW/cm˛ range.

Both need peak emission near 633nm for skin "rejuvination".

If in any doubt what your output is... you need (of course) a Solarmeter Model 9.6 Red Light Meter!

Welcome to Solartech

Hey Stephen: This too is a quantifyable science. Sorry... not simply marketing...

LED simply means Light Emitting Diode, different LED's are manufactured for different reasons. For example, your computer might use a green LED to indicate that your hard drive is turning. Your television remote control will more than likely use an infra-red LED to communicate with your television.

The ETS, Rejuvasun with Omnilux unit happens to utilize a 633nm (red) LED and an 830nm (infra-red) LED system. These wavelengths when used in alternate sessions have been proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by 74% in clinical studies.

Where are your clinical studies?

I see that you don't utilize infra-red either in your device. The first clinical study you quote on your website was a study performed on the Omnilux unit which is what we use in our Rejuvasun unit and is manufactured by Photo Therapeutics.

We didn't buy Omnilux, we simply purchase our Rejuvenation panels from them. It's been a very synergistic relationship.

And let the mud slingin begin. You guys need to stop this crap. Roy start your own damn thread. ETS isn't liked by man for various reasons, you don't need to add to it by saying the TA unit is not good and yours is better

I like the idea of 3 people from different companies discussing the merits of their units! The "best HP" thread was awesome reading. And LED is such a new technology to our market, I'm eager to learn more.

I hope you gentlemen keep discussing this!!!

It's also important to have brightness, not just the wavelength.

brownsuze,
Yes, we have plans on introducing our new PATENTED LED tanning bed at the upcoming show. There are no light bulbs, only uva and uvb leds which will last approximately 100,000 hours. We will also be licensing the technology and we are currently in negotiations with some bed manufacturers that are already purchasing parts or equipment from us.
