What do you do to increase your gift card/certificate sales??

Bundle deals..........get nice gift bags from Dollar store and metalic paper on the inside and display the product in front of the bag. When they buy, put it all in the bag and you are done. Price all the items at retail and then discount 15%-30% off the total or whatever you want to discount off of it. Discount it a lot if it's a product you want to get rid of if they buy it with that lotion. End of year products....new stuff coming in that you want to make room for.

Buy any lotion at REGULAR PRICE and I'll give you a Gift Card for FREE ($25-$50) depending on what lotion they buy. That takes care of their x-mas shopping for a friend/loved one. They can give the Gift card as a gift to someone else. OR They can use it themselves towards TANNING SESSIONS ONLY (not package or products) if they want to redeem it for themselves.

it's just an idea.....get you started towards brainstorming.

Other then that we do a 5000 direct mail postcard of "$10 gift card" to clients every year.

You don't actually put a Gift Card attached on the flyer do you?...the flyer acts as a gift card or value of $10.......right?

How does that work for you? You let them use it on alrady discounted items or if they get 20% off lotion....they get another $10.00 off? DO you add fineprint of any type?

Day after thanksgiving sale....50% OFF anything in store from 9am-11am Friday ONLY
Then Saturday we start Tan until 2008 Specials
and we push the gift cards with every 50.00 card get a free bottle of lotion (stuff we pay 5.00 for)

We also have in store credit pay in 2007 for our EFT customers...

Oh yeah and this year they get a free gift with every tanning package purchased Nov-Dec, the free gift are CUTE key chains we picked up with big flowers on them...see the site at www.FunnyFriends.com they were .25 each

I like that idea....but i have many Jewish that come to my salon so i went with a neutral

2x$1.00 Metalic Silver Gift Bag with silver paper inside. Holds a bottle of lotion, moisturizer, Lip Balm, Goggles, Gift Card.
