I am getting ready to do a 2 hour radio remote in the month of November. I haven't set the date yet.
I am trying to come up with ideas for the remote, does anyone have any suggestions to try and entice clients. I don't have messages, only various levels of tanning beds. |

No, it will be a live DJ. I have my choice from 4 radio stations thru Next Media here, Country, Talk Radio, Classic Rock or 90's and beyond. I'm leaning towards the 90's and beyond.
So I should just make the day a "free tan day", I also have lots of so-so lotion I'm going to mark down just to get rid of it and have specials on other lotion. I know I'll have food and drinks etc., purchased the place July 1st and have never had a "grand opening". Also thought of having coupons for buy one session get one free for future visits so they come back too. |

We had radio ads before--they worked well, but I will not pay for a DJ to come again, way to expensive for what ya get...
We did specials like "mention this radio ad and get ...." and stop in in the next 30 min and get .......FREE!!! |

My husband's other business spent a lot of money on radio advertising this year and included were 2 radio remotes. He took one of them and I am getting the other so really it's already been prepaid thru the contract we were under on the other business. I am just using it up since it's been a little slow here.

Make sure that when it starts it isn't the stations "12 in a row" or whatever they do. I would give-away a HUGE package to anyone that signs up that day like 6 to 12 months (this person always becomes a valued customer and up sells you to 30+ people)
And don't waste your money on too much food or drink. It would be better to spend it on more new inventory. Get your distributer to give you free packets of lotion and anything you can get.. AT least if i had to redo my live-remote this is what i would have done. Oh and it help if you have the DJ tan for free with you the month prior! Cuz they will also love you and you will get free endorsements out of it (they normally charge a TON for this)

I have found that radio remotes dont really draw people to your location...usually it is the same people that follow the radio peeps around looking for free stuff.

Radio live on location works great if you have multiple locations to get your name out there. If you have 1 location serving a big city, it's worthless.
Also, November is not the time of year to be doing huge radio promo's as it's still dead until mid December. Save your money.
