So just to clarify you can buy the rejuv. red lamps separately, pop them in a bed and away you go to test this technology out??? Very interesting. I have a spare 30 lamp TA VIP that sits empty right now so this may be an idea to try with staff and friends etc.. to test results before marketing and selling this to my client base.

So next question.... where can I get these lamps in Ontario?

Thanks in advance! suz

Sounds like an order for John at URI or Ed at SunSource.
We like them and can recommend you try them in your TA bed,
they will be reflector lamps so you'll have to turn the lampholders
so they line up horizontally (older vips are at an angle). Don't
be shocked at how bright they are.

Hey thanks, I just checked the lamp holders and they are already horizontal (made me think when you mentioned it that they were already horizontal... and they are). So you have tried this with success then?

Yeah we have them going in two beds, 24 lamp and 30 lamp.
If you give them a free trial visit, they will buy a package. We
put them in during the winter slow time, and they kept us busy
with customers who came for the red light but decided to tan, too.
You can sell the packages while you're waiting for the lamps, and
have them paid for in advance.
This is something people can't argue with; NASA technology. The skin needs to rejuvenate, and it detoxifies the body, too. You can improve the circulation of blood, and lessen joint pain as a result.
The only con is that you need to keep up the maintenance program. How can that be a con if you own the bed?

I'll post some results using the new "energy" AS when I get time.

I have been using the "tube" visible (white) lights for two years. My face is now as smooth as a new baby's butt. Please, no comments about the similarity in looks.

Here are the "results" you can expect from 2-3 sessions of 15-20 minutes per week: [Note: These results are "usual and customary" when you use a lotion before and after the session and at night after showering.]

- A change in "skin tightness" and "tone" in about 3-4 weeks.

- a noticeable change in "skin smoothness" in about 6-8 weeks.

- An "observable" reduction of "wrinkling" in 3-4 months.

- A "dramatic" reduction in wrinkling in 6-9 months.

[Note: The literature indicates that groups using these lights to eliminate "minor" scars show results in about 9-12 months.]

The biggest "mistake" you can make is to promise results too quickly.

The biggest "benefit" is to "forestall" premature aging (wrinkling) which means that the individual will look younger longer.

Don... if it worked on you (lol) then I gotta try it too. That rhymes.

What did you mean "white" light? They are red - no?

Why doesn't sunlight do the same thing? It has over 10 mW/cm˛ of the 590-670nm-ish red rejuvy light mixed in with all the other bandwidths.

So you never noticed any difference in your skin? or was it that it did not generate enough interest from clients to warrant keeping them in?

I was wondering about just changing out the spaghetti facials I think mine are 40 watt though to red light so that way they can either have them on or off for the session time so they can tan their body and some face and get the red light benefit.

Would that work John? They are 15 minute Sundash 232's

Eileen:

A suggestion. Even more important in the beginning is the clients "perception" of whether or not the sessions are helping. That's because the client can "feel" the skin tightening and smoothing before it becomes visually apparent. Question them when they come in for a new session about how they "feel" the sessions are helping and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Weekly photos will be a waste of time.

- A change in "skin tightness" and "tone" in about 3-4 weeks. (Client can "feel" change)

- a noticeable change in "skin smoothness" in about 6-8 weeks.
(Client can "feel" change)

- An "observable" reduction of "wrinkling" in 3-4 months.
(Measurable in photo)

- A "dramatic" reduction in wrinkling in 6-9 months.
(Very apparent in photo)

Therefore, quarterly photos will be fine.

Eggplant said: "I don't get it" and that is the most revealing and informative statement he has ever made.

Maybe that should be his new tag line.

Seems Mr Science is pretching to the God's of marketing these days. Your responses are the same as when I asked why a gas chamber retro fitted with self tanner juice can be marketed as a safe alternative to UV tanning.

good luck with that.

Methinks Engledink has had one too many double shot expresso's today.

BTW what is "pretching"? Is that anything like retching? Or kvetching?

I have my first before and after photos. I'm still going to create a log/journal of exact session times completed. My first photo was on June 11th the second was tonight June 20th. There are visible differences.

I dunno what pretching is either but again, one 8min tan in the ICON and every pore is closed, skin is tight and 99% blemish free and color is perfect.

But 3-4months is good too.

They appear white and extremely bright. I find keeping your eyes closed the first minute or two before opening them they adjust to the brightness. What was interesting to me is even though they light up white you can't see the t-max timer in red. I have to cover it with my hands to see how much time is remaining. Also when I exit the unit all the lights in the salon look blue for about 10 to 20 seconds.
