This originally was posted in December of 2004.......it's not that it's not FREE anymore...but it's not available at all. The site is no longer online.

Go figure....I used the search and the data is poopoo! Well with that said..I am looking for an algorithm of some sort to do a break even analysis on the bed mix ROI . I have my bplan togeather but I am missing the core financial bits. I have read through many of the threads and have caught pieces here and there but is there one "true" methodology for doing the numbers (this many tanners will bring in this much money per month, this many months will pay off this bed, you need to make this much money a month to pay all overhead expenses, etc.)? t *x = n t*%=x?????

I know I am asking for the pie in the sky... One poster bragged about how he had figured it all out and then called himself a dick for not sharing.

That business plan did nothing for me. Doesn't tell me how I am going to run MY salon, not some ficticious salon. Ask yourself this question. If you need help with a business plan, why are getting into the tanning salon industry?

If you can't write your own business plan, you are lacking the basic skills to run a tanning salon. true business skills. the skills that no business plan is going to give you.

why are you getting into this industry? do you need someone else's business plan, a cheap looking business plan at that, to mold you into a tanning salon pro?

no business plan is going to teach you common sense. if you need a copy of a business plan that bad, that's a bad sign in my opinion.

just sayin

Big Leo i must disagree with you. Having great business or management skills will not automatically give you the knowledge to open or operate a business that you have now real knowledge of. Your skills can only be applied after understanding the particular dynamics of the chosen industry. Be smart secure the help of a qualified professional that specializes in the industry you have chosen. This is what a smart business person would do. A truly gifted business person knows that you surround yourself with knowledgeable people. Only then can you apply your skills to the fullest potential. When my clients open the doors of their new salon the are already veterans of the industry with the tools and knowledge to succeed. There is no shame in having a qualified person write your business plan. I am a business consultant and yet I enlist the help of others when I need it.
