| Moderator/Arbonne VP | I don't know if it's legal or not but until someone challenges me on it I'm going to keep doing it this way. Of all the guys I've airbrushed, not one has even hinted they wanted it any other way. Kathe

We find that if you approach the procedure as a cosmetic procedure with professionalism the the clients are relaxed. This isno different than working in a nursing home and showering patients. The clients are receiveing a professional cosmetic treatment just as a massage client would. I am a guy I spray topless/nude women, I am married my wife also sprays clients. We have no problem with each other spraying clients. If you make it difficult it can be difficult. release forms: IF your clients would consider suing you then you do not want them is my opinion. In our salon we know our clients. We have been doing this for over three years and thousands of tans. I hjave even sprayed nude minor females. (with parents present only) Now there isa way to reduce the anxiety if your clients, especially when starting out. This method increases your sunless sales and has a profit opportunity in it also. |

Our packiage includes: Sauna/Aromatherapy Ultra Tan European Spa Treatment OR Sunless Tan The unique part of this package is that since we are going from one session to several treatemnts in different rooms, we give the client a ROBE to wear. The client gets to STRUT around the salon (Feeling special)plus they are naked underneath. (After walking around the salon for a while naked they seem to feel more relaxedin the sunless booth) Now, after they have had their treatments... at the final treatment we lead them to the sunless boothand simply say "Go in the booth, disrobe, ane the tech will be in to give you your treatment momentarily" So, the natural thing to do is simply drop the robe. The technician then performs the procedure the client is happy and if it is ME I sell a bottle of moisturizer! when I spray, I take a $15-20 Sunless Tan to a $60 Spa treatment experience most of the time. The ladies just light up when they are strutting around the salon in a robe,. and it takes all the pressure away from the situation. If you want to talk more about sunless, call me sometime or write. No, I am not going to pressure you into purchasing my spray system. There is more info about the diva treatment on another thread search for Diva for more info. |

He was talking bout in a bed. Just somethin bout us guys. You girls see doctors and each other nude MUCH more often than guys, so I think it may be more casual to women to be nude for procedures. |

I also believe that to command a higher session rate it should be truly customized and that takes time, not like the 2 minute Turbo system you see advertised. I currently have Mystic and I don't think I will lose my core clients with that. I think by adding the personalized it will just add to the sunless experience. __________________ Jeff |

| Hall of Famer | I agree. Alot of salons are offering both now aren't they Jeff? If I had the space I would do both. I went with the cheaper system cuz the noise wasn't and issue for me. I aslo wanted to see if it would be a money maker and perhaps invest in a nicer system as time went on. I have 6 today which thrills me. After this busy season I will have to re evaluate if I am going to upgrade my system. The whole set up even decorating the room was around $700 |

It goes on great and you can set the gun for wide spray for the quicker version or it will also define needed areas. Glow |

| Rookie Join Date: May 2006 Location: Cumming, GA Posts: 30 | certan, my experience is that those videos don't help. I have watched several and they make it look like you swiftly swipe the person's body up and down and it is instantly going to be even, and cover all parts. I have been airbrushing for over 2 years and my technique is nothing like the videos. I wasted a lot of time trying to do it like the video's. My suggestion is to watch the videos to learn about the machine and how to clean, etc., but then find some friends to practice on. They can always shower immediately afterwards. You will get better with each try and it doesnt take long at all. I can give you a few tips that the videos don't show you if you like. Just let me know and I will either give you my email or post the tips here. Glow |

| Super Star Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: tx Posts: 790 | Paasche airbrush??? I will give you one. I tried every airbrush system in the early days... Then gave up.. then tried again. then gave up again. Bear in mind I have a 5 hP compressor which can run any gun. Then I studied HVLP, the answer was clear. The unit paid for itself the day I bought it. From that pont on it has been great. even the large airbrushes are so very slow. Clients want NOW! They are already late when they arrive. As for noise... My turbine is rather quiet. It makes a bit of noise.. which SELLS the next client. The turbine makes approximately the same noise as a large UV tan bed. A higher pitch, bt definitely not loud. However, it is just loud enough for the clients to hear... and for some to ask... "What is that sound?" this opens the door to the next sale. Noise.. hmm.. If the TV is on in the lobby, clients cannot hear the turbine. Not hard to have a quiet turbine. I wish you luck with the airbrushes. I tried 'em all. A suggestion... buy them locally with a "trial" sale. Most paint shops will sell them on a trial basis for artists to test and will allow an exchange. Ther was a point where I bought a new airbrsh each day for 5 days, vowing I could make the sunless biz work before I developed my turbine system. If you really do not want a turbine.... just use a simple "Pump up" sprayer. 1 quart, with built in pump.. "The green ones in the garden dept for about $8" Set it for a fine mist and spray. Works better than all the airbrushes I tried. Personal service is awesome.. but wasting your time... and your client's time?? I am not bashing airbrshes... just personally did not find it rewarding for me or the clients. |

| Super Star Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: tx Posts: 790 | Training... i have trained dozens of techs. Nt a single one sprays the same as another. within twenty sprays each tech will change how they do it. Some clients will like a tech and some will like another. The good news is that with the modernized solutions... most clients look perfect regardless of technique used. You can overspray them and make 'em look almst black, or you can spray 'em lightly and make 'em look perfect in the bronzer. Their skin is going to use what it needs and usually look nearly perfect. |
