thanks again blond. I have been getting lots of mixed messages as far as the original question. Every one agrees that it can handle the three beds.(RIGHT?) The problem seems to be what else in the building is running off the electric, AC, light fixtures, clippers blowdryers you get the point. So the next question is how to figure what I really need to open. (300amp 400amp?) I realize some will think this is foolish, the tanning part is not what is paying the bills well maybe a couple . It is more of a marketing ploy to drive in more customers for hair services. I know I'm the black sheep on this forum since it will not be strictly a tanning salon but everyones input is greatly appreciated. Yeah I hope to see you in heaven. mikey Maybe you could make some use of yourself and give me some helpful information. not to start a pissing match but i have only seen a few post that were positive by YOU. However I am sure you have more knowledge about the industry than myself so maybe you could help a white man out in a 95% white area(80525,80528 zips)

I have to chime in here. You really need to be more specific as to what beds you are installing. My entry level beds only need a 20amp breaker and draws only 11-13 amps under load wired 3 phase

My midlevel requires a 30 amp breaker and only pulls 23-25 amps under load.

Is it possible to run 3 beds off what you have, YES it is. AC 60amps top for 6 tons, I'd probably say 40-50. Lights 20-40 amps, standard outlets 20-40 amps. water heater 30amps. You probably need dedicated circuits for emergency lighting and fire alarm. This excludes your hair dryers. These are typical breaker requirements. I couldn't tell you what the pull is on my double row of 4 lamp flouresent ceiling lighting, or what the draw is on my outlets. So yes, I think your 175 is okay, 200 would have been slightly better if 3 beds is all you will ever use.

Depending on where your incoming power is, you may want to consider an upgrade now. Certain areas do allow 2 services to be installed, although this is hard to come across. There was a local area around me that allowed it.

I have 600 amps and its just enough if everything was running in the building, although not enough for another AC unit.

AC is important, are you going to be able to vent your beds? some small beds can't be vented. Are your rooms going to be floor to ceiling, open ceiling, can you put a gap between the floor and the walls? Having the ability to circulate air can make a smaller unit much more effective. The radiant heat that comes from the canopy and bench is nothing compared to the heat that is exhausted. Most HVAC guys have no clue when it comes to tanning beds. You can literally heat your building with them unvented, why in the world they suggest some low powered units is beyond me.

If you are thinking about putting a large HP unit in and you think your rooms are large, go much bigger. I'm soo sorry we didn't make my HP room a few feet deeper.
