| I have an office in my salon that is basically just used for storage, I wanted to put something in there that will make me money, I was thinking spray tan, but its not quite big enough for a spray tan unit. I was thinking of having someone to come in and do nails, and pay me a monthly fee. Does anyone else do this? What are the pros and cons? Also, how much do you charge for the fee? It would be nice if I could charge my entire rent bill, my rent is really cheap, so I think I could do that, but I dont know how much the going rate is or anything. |

Pro's are the obvious. More people in the door, a little money every month. Con's are the smell, DUST, and making appointment , if you choose to do that for them. My suggestion is that if you decide to do this, make it month to month ($350-$450 per month), make them provide some sort of air filtration system that will remove the nail dust as per your approval, ($100-$250 probably, making sure it has a filter on the front that can be washed out daily. www.nsafilters.com Also, its always better if they have an established client base. Rarely do I see nail techs willing to sit around....or go pound the pavement trying to build one....they usually get bored and move on. Good luck whatever you choose to do ![]() RonnieT. |

Total investment after purchasing fans and all would be under $500. $25-$50 custom sprays...remember we are salon owners not rocket scientist...easy one to figure out ![]() RonnieT. |

The landlord just doesn't need the money I guess so she rents out cheap. Its not even about the area, my mother rents out an office up the road for twice as much and half the size. |

You don't want someone that will mess you around and not turn up for appointments and even though it is the nail chicks biz it will reflect back on you if she is always late or never shows up... I agree with RonnieT only a small space is needed and you should make stacks of cash... good luck The spray thing is a good idea |

But the spray tan thing would be good too, I think I have room for both actually. I just dont know anything about spray tan especially the whole custom spray tan thing. We get some creepy old men in the salon and I would be scared to custom spray anything on them. |

I know I would have to compensate them pretty well to deal with the creepy old guys and even the hot ones, or girls naked. I know right now they wouldn't feel comfortable doing any of that. But they are really good employees so its not like I want to get rid of them for not wanting to spray people naked. |
