Cool Mobile HVLP tanning biz owners...help

I am trying to start up a mobile tan biz. Ive gotten everything else into play...equipment, solutions, insurance, DBA...but guess what?? I cant find ..or should I say my town cant figure out how to license it. They wont license anything mobile..why?? Dont know. Its practically the stone age here with small govt. Anywhoo...the state seems to be useless as well. There is nothing under cosmetology and its not quite tanning. Ive talked with some and they say "just do it". The problem is I am in a small town and dont want to "just do it" because if I advertise here...the whole town will know. Sooooo...with this much said...has anyone incurred these problems in the mobile business? I would love to hear any suggestions that would help me out. I am in MA.

TIA

You aren't mobile....you don't spray and drive at the same time. You spray tan ppl at their locations. Just like Hair stylists go and style hair, makeup artists go and do makeup the day of. Photographers go and take pictures at a location. You need a business registered to pay them taxes from your services. Who cares where you do it.

Register your business to your home address, but perform the sprays at their houses.

That is why ppl are telling you just do it, cuz the gov't doesn't care as long as they get their cut!

Insurance is who cares where you do it and your liability and for claims and male/female and if touching is involved etc... not the gov't. They just want their money.

You can be a hooker, as long as you claim your taxes, they don't care. Criminally a hooker can be charged....but if you pay your taxes as a hooker, the IRS won't do crappola, they don't care.

So register your business as a spray tanning services. (that is like makeup artist) and do your business.

Not sure if you have already registered your business, but I just started a mobile tanning business myself. I incorporated my biz in the state of Florida. It was easy and only cost me $70. You can do it online by filing articles of incorporation. Takes only 15 min to fill out the forms and the business will then be official within a few days. Next, you register the biz with the IRS and like he said....make sure they get paid.
