We went year before last to get certified, do some research and meet with manufacturers. It was definitely worth it.

Attend the class. They have Smart Tan certification courses that you can sign up for. I believe they offer both the full-day (for most regulated states) as well as a 1/2 day (for non-regulated states).

What beds did you buy? It could be he doesn't want you to see what you should of bought. Don't know if that's the case, but a distrubutor suggesting you don't go seems kind of strange. I would think it would be especially important if you're new to the industry.

I agree. I have NO clue why any disty would say NOT to go. Makes no sense at all. THis is when you need to suck up as much info as possible. Yes, it can be overwhelming but you will be fine. You will learn so much and network with many new people that will help you along the way.

Maybe they didnt want you to see all the other equipment that is out there and stop payment on what you are buying from them.

Food for thought!

I don't know when you are opening. I would go to the show to see everything that is out there and get all the info I could. The more you know, the better choices you can make.

What type of beds did your distributor sell you?

^^^^^^
Right on Alan.

Why would they want their customer to goto the show. Everything to loose and nothing to gain!

Can't imagine any scenario when a disty wouldn't want you to go to this show except the one already stated. Go and learn all you can and talk to different bed manufacturers, etc. Take the classes offered as well. What disty is this????

I am disappointed that the certification is always when something else is happening. How can I be both places at once?
