Post Man Sentenced For Videotaping Girl In Tanning Salon

Man Sentenced For Videotaping Girl

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A man caught videotaping a teenage girl at a La Vista tanning salon will spend five days in jail and 18 months on probation.

Sarpy County Judge Max Kelch also ordered that Edward Wainwright not be allowed to possess a camera and undergo treatment for alcohol and sexual addictions.

Police arrested Wainwright, 28, in December after salon employees saw him videotaping an undressed 16-year-old in the booth next to his.

Police said he stood on the tanning bed and looked over the ten-foot wall.

Wainwright pleaded no contest to unlawful invasion.

Had that happen once-except no camera and the girl was a grown up. Police came and we refunded him his money. I don't think anything else ever happened. Pervs!

That really taught him a lesson, Christine.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't know it was my job to "teach him a lesson". I'll add that to my list of things to do. Is someone still feeling a little violated? You can't change other people and what they do. You can only decide if you will let them affect your life and for how long.

Man Caught Taping Girl Tanning Sentenced

POSTED: 3:12 pm CDT July 27, 2006
UPDATED: 3:30 pm CDT July 27, 2006

OMAHA, Neb. -- A man who was caught videotaping a teenage girl at a La Vista tanning parlor will do jail time.

Police said both the suspect and the two victims were customers of Ashley Lynn's Tanning Salon. Police said in December that Edward Wainwright, 27, paid for a tanning session, then while inside a booth, he allegedly reached over a partition with a camera and recorded an underage girl in the booth next door.

A salon employee saw it happen and called police.

Wainwright pleaded no contest to unlawful invasion. A judge sentenced him to five days in jail and 18 months probation. He will also have to undergo treatment for alcohol and sexual addiction.

You may have a point. If the cops catch the burglars that broke in and robbed our salon last weekend, instead of prosecuting them I'll consider offering them a year free tanning and a couple bottles of free lotion.

Ok, this was many years ago, so I don't remember all the details. I do remember that this guy had come in and just signed up for the first time and got caught on his first tan peeping at someone. The lady called the cops and we refunded the money that he had just given us and told him he was no longer welcome to tan at our salon. She was cool so she didn't press charges and personally, we didn't feel this kind of publicity was a good thing for our tanning salon so that was the end of it.

5 days in Jail? What a freaking joke.

These people need to be taken into the woods and beat to within an inch of their life. Maybe thats a little overboard but if I had a daughter and some scumbag peaked over and videotaped them undressing I would be in jail.

I'm sorry but i just dont understand! A man in your tanning salon watched a women over the wall while her tanning session and you are worred about the bad PUBLICITY ! If anything you should have gave her the money back plus his and a free tan or something! I just dont get it!

"sorry ma'am that he invaded your privacy but please dont call the cops or tell anyone because i dont want the publicity!"

im sure she felt really comfortable in your salon after that..

Did I say that I asked her not to press charges? It was totally her decision and I would've supported whatever she chose.

If someone peeped at one of our customers they would be gone, wouldnt see a penny and probably would have a broken arm.
