| EU declares the implementation of SCCP findings compulsory Based on the recommendations of the SCCP report, the Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission has published the LVD ADCO Declaration (Low Voltage Directive: Administrative Co-operation Working Group) which becomes effective on July 23rd of this year. The intention was to create an European-wide regulation for consumer protection by reducing the irradiance limit of sunbeds to 0.3 W/m². For background information on how this new regulation came about and what it means to the industry and to the salon owner, please read the account of the Secretary General of the European Sunlight Association (ESA), Frank Harbusch. Simply attend a FUTURE FIT FORUM at your nearest venue. Open to all. Pre-registration essential. Organised by Ergoline. To be held in a number of key locations around the UK, the Future Fit Forums will have a specific and sometimes limited number of spaces available, depending upon the venue. Priority will, understandably, be given to existing Ergoline customers, although non-Ergoline customers will be most welcome. Due to the number of enquiries received already and existing pre-registrations, entry to the Future Fit Forums will be strictly by confirmed prior registration only. To find out dates and locations of the Ergoline Future Fit Forums, please send an e-mail to futurefitforum@ergoline-uk.com , providing your name, address and telephone contact number. The Future Fit Forum Co-ordinator will then contact you as the nearest location and date becomes available. |

This has been proposed for several years now. It basically limits output to no more than a UV Index of 12.0. Over here beds can go way up near a UVI of 45+... of course with short Te times of 10 min or less. UVI/40 = W/m² Eeff. The Model 7.0 MED/hr meter can easily convert to W/m² Eeff: Quote:

Everything over 00082 is set to FDA 156... except any goint to Europe are still set at 210. What happened to the two newer ones you had me send to Sam James to take to you??? Ones sent to AU are set to 250. Someday the whole world is supposed to standardize on 200 J/m² Eeff for a type 2 MED. And 100 J/m² for an SED (standard erythemal dose) which is half a MED. If/when that happens, the 7.0 meters will also be set to 200 per MED for everywhere. |

But the #136 went to BlackSun... so it would be set at 156 J/m². To convert the #136 to 210... reduce the reading by multiplying it be 0.742. |
