| Voyeurism charges filed against Rensselaer man By BRANDON HATFIELD, brandon@rensselaerrepublican.com Posted: Monday, June 18, 2007 8:41 AM CDT Rensselaer resident Jeff Sanders, 48, has been summoned to court, in lieu of a warrant. The court date is set for July 9 and it involves charges of voyeurism filed against him on June 12. Allegedly, Sanders was caught not by a police officer but by Terry Bakondi of His and Hers Tanning on June 6. According to Bakondi, Sanders was laying on the floor outside tanning room number three at the salon, looking into the vents at the bottom of the door. Bakondi said that Sanders was a client of the tanning salon. She had waited until after the occupant of room three left, then she looked through the vents and discovered that it was possible to see into room, where a person would be disrobed and in the tanning bed. Charges were filed. According to Officer Matt Anderson, he spoke to Sanders and he admitted to looking into the room, but he did not know who he was looking at. Sanders said that he had overheard others talking about room three, prior to the June 6 occurrence, saying that it is possible to look into the room. Bakondi said that His and Her Tanning is now looking into a solution to ensure customer privacy is respected at the business. Source |
