Prison, property forfeiture for prostitution ring leader

Detectives tracked panderer Jesus DeLeon for more than two years, and the payoff came this week when he was sentenced to three years in prison and the county prepared to seize more than $300,000 in property.

Officials say DeLeon's prostitution ring was so sophisticated that his sites were equipped with electronic devices to alert operators if any customer walked in wearing a hidden wire.

His businesses were so profitable, officials say, that they do not know for sure how much money he was able to hide.

The $300,000 in property being seized marks the largest asset forfeiture for a prostitution case ever in Sacramento County.

Detectives finally closed in on DeLeon's Cancun Tanning at 9276 Greenback Lane, Orangevale, in April 2006, Deputy District Attorney Valerie Brown said Thursday.

He also ran two other businesses that were shut down for being prostitution operations: Mandalay Tanning Studio and Chalet Tanning and Massage, investigators said.

On Wednesday, DeLeon, 45, entered no-contest pleas to two counts of pandering and was sentenced to three years in state prison.

Brown praised Sacramento County Sheriff's Detectives Lisa Gayman and Mike Wright and the sheriff's special investigations bureau for amassing a tight case against DeLeon that included financial records and other documentation.

Investigators determined that men entering Cancun Tanning were charged an admission fee to get past the reception area. After making it into one of the private rooms, they were offered several options.

A tan was not among them: None of the tanning beds at Cancun Tanning were operational, investigators said.

So what happened if i walked in and asked for a tan? Not that i mind a woman getting naked and sucking on a lollipop instead of a tan....but what if i really just wanted a tan? They would tell me they are booked all day? I'll make an appointment.
