Woman Feared Being Spied On While Tanning At Doral

(CBS4) DORAL Imagine going to a spa or resort to relax and sun tan, only to be spied on. Three women say this happened to them while they tanned nude at a South Florida spa.

Three women who were sun tanning at the exclusive Doral spa claim they were spied on while lying naked in an area that is walled-in for privacy.

"Honestly I feel raped, that's how I feel," one woman told CBS4's Evan Bacon.

They asked that we not air their faces because they feel shame, saying they were enjoying the private sun deck at the spa when they heard the noise of what appeared to be a camera being turned on.

"Ten minutes after we got there, we heard some strange sound, like when you turn on a camera."

At first they thought nothing of it and continued chatting on lounges. Then one woman changed positions and spotted something in the air vent above them.

"I saw a camera lens moving," she said. "I start to scream; I was in panic."

By the time security arrived and inspected the engineering room where the vent was, there was no camera and no peeping tom to be found. The women took a closer look at that vent and noticed a hole had been cut in the metal screen, giving a clear view of bathing deck. One of the women shot amateur video of the location so CBS4 could show you the scene.

Miami-Dade police arrived about 45 minutes later, but they found no evidence and determined it's not a crime scene. They told CBS4 News it's the spa's responsibility to secure its engineering room.

A spokesperson for the spa said, "No comment. We are investigating the alleged incident."

The women, who have been repeat customers of the spa, say they will not be returning.
