| LA Sunset Tan Owners to Launch Nationwide Franchise Following Success of Hit Reality Series LOS ANGELES, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- On the heels of their hit E! reality series, LA Sunset Tan co-owners Devin Haman, Jeff Bozz and ReignDeer Entertainment President, Larry Rudolph today announced the expansion of their Southern California tanning brand into a nationwide franchise. As a part of the multi-platform deal, Haman, Bozz and Rudolph will join forces with the Maloof Family of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and the Sacramento Kings, to offer; "turn-key" franchise opportunities, an exclusive fashion line and an indoor tanning product package throughout each nationwide business unit. LA Sunset Tan was initially founded in 2003 by Haman and Bozz, who both began in the Los Angeles real estate market. Over four successful years, they partnered with longtime friend Larry Rudolph and expanded to five more locations throughout L.A. and Orange County, establishing LA Sunset Tan as the definitive place for high-end tanning at an affordable price. LA Sunset Tan gained national exposure in 2006 when Haman, Bozz and Rudolph together developed a twelve-episode reality series documenting the foibles of the tanning salon industry. The series, "Sunset Tan," quickly emerged as a top-rated hit for the network and brought in myriad franchise requests and business proposals to the Los Angeles salon owners. One such opportunity came in the Fall of 2007, when Rudolph's longtime friend George Maloof and the distinguished Maloof Family, agreed to not only partner with the salon owners for the nationwide franchise, but launch their own multi-million dollar LA Sunset Tan Salon and Spa in the Palms Place Condominium and Hotel Tower in 2008. The final terms of the LA Sunset Tan franchise were finalized in October of 2007, and announced at the Los Angeles Franchise Convention earlier this month. "LA Sunset Tan has maintained a simple formula since first opening four years ago: offering affordable high-quality tanning in a modernized, upscale setting. With this philosophy, the business has built itself," said LA Sunset Tan co-owner Devin Haman. "We have thrived in this industry by consistently providing premium tanning services to our customers, including our celebrity clientele, and we are astounded and thrilled to have the support of the Maloof Family for this terrific business opportunity." "As a founding partner in the LA Sunset Tan brand, I am immensely proud to be a part of this major development for our Southern California business, and amazed by the opportunities presented to us by the Maloof Family," said LA Sunset Tan co-owner and ReignDeer Entertainment President, Larry Rudolph. "This is a huge step for our tanning salon enterprise, and I am excited to see the possibilities in a market built for success." "The means by which the LA Sunset Tan team was able to transform their vision for quality tanning at an affordable cost, into a massive nationwide franchise, commands total confidence and our company's full financial support," said George Maloof, Palms Casino Resort and Maloof Companies. "The Maloof Family has developed a diverse portfolio of successful business ventures over time, and LA Sunset Tan is a perfect fit for our overall philosophy of financial achievement at any level." Albeit, I am not surprised at all that this was going to happen. Unfortunately, there are a lot of pros and cons to this. My only concerns are for the poor saps at home sitting in front of their idiot box thinking "Duhhh, I can do that" And go head over heels for the IT thing, only to be bamboozled. On the other hand, if it's structured well. And going by the name drops, I assume it would be. We can expect to one of these on every corner within the next 5 yrs. Just what we need, more big name competition. Yeehhhhhh ![]() |

The L.A.-based company is capitalizing on the spotlight provided by the E network to peddle its brand of tanning salon to franchisees. The six-unit chain is expected to balloon to 50 units within a year and 400 to 500 in the next three to four years, according to Sunset Tan co-founder Jeff Bozz. I said to both - you understand that that is TV and reality is that if you acted like that here...i would fire you...they were dumbfounded! LOL |

At the risk of pissing off female customers.... __________________ ![]() ......................Flashback 2001........................ "One of the 'ORIGINAL' TanToday Gang" |

Now we need to figure out a way to use their name to help us promote our salons...maybe we can have a Sunset Tan Weekend...offering signed logo apparel from Cali....anyone have Jeff or Devins number?? Maybe we all can benefit from their show. |

Every idot that has no idea watched that show and will now dish out huge $$ for a franchise that will fail miserably. Think about it. If that show was even real, that salon would never last the way it is run. I see lots of more used beds for sale on the internet in the future. |

LA Sunset Tan Productions, a Los Angeles company that operates and franchises luxury tanning spas, has named a master franchisee for Arizona, who hopes to establish at least 15 LA Sunset Tan locations in the Valley in the next five years. Half of those could be in the East Valley, said Tadd Olson, a Scottsdale resident and founder of Arizona Tanning Enterprises LLC, which is directing the development effort. “Contrary to people’s perceptions, sunny areas have higher demand for tanning than other areas,” he said. “People here are expected to be tanned. But most of us are too busy to see the sun.” The tanning salons give customers a bronzed look after only a few minutes in a tanning bed, with the ability to control exposure to dangerous ultraviolet rays. Or spray-on tans are available if they prefer, he said. Customers will pay about $20 for a single visit, or up to $1,000 for tanning packages, he said. LA Sunset Tan hopes to differentiate itself from competitors by offering the high-end pampering movie stars receive at Sunset Tan’s Los Angeles locations. Adding further star cachet to the brand is the “Sunset Tan” television show on the E! Entertainment network, which revolves around the fictional activities of the salon’s employees. “We’re coming to the Valley with a recognized brand name,” Olson said of the show’s impact. “And when we have grand openings, people from the show will come out.” Olson is still finding Valley locations for the stores, but he said Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Tempe, Ahwatukee Foothills, and maybe Gilbert and Mesa are candidates. He said he hopes to find owners and operators for single or small groups of salons, adding that more than 20 people have already expressed interest in investing up to $650,000 to open a single store. Olson thinks the first store could be open in six to eight months. The naming of an Arizona developer is part of a national expansion plan by LA Sunset Tan to open 500 franchise locations nationwide.
