Why, with all the money the large manufacturers have, are not more then one of them listed in the Top 10 Yahoo searches for the keyword tanning?

Instead, you have 5 anti-tanning sites, 2 diversion sites and 2 online encyclopedia.

Back to topic - when will the big boys really stretch their online marketing budget and take over the category that is tanning?

We get most of our leads from the internet. 95% of the people that want to purchase beds type in "Tanning beds" or "Tanning equipment" not just "tanning". I'm sure you know there are many different keywords that have to be taken into consideration when optimizing your website.

Either when Google begins behaving like a traditional outlet for advertisers and they can simply pay for their placement, or when they decide to try to understand the aggrivating world of search engine optimization and invest heavily in it.

The former will never happen, the latter often requires too much patience for most shareholders who themselves don't understand SEO at all.
