Exclamation Breaking News: Four Seasons Acquires American Sun Systems

Posted this in Salon Discussion too.

Four Seasons Sales & Service announces the expansion of its operation through the recent acquisition of Greensboro, N.C.-based American Sun Systems, effective July 21.

American Sun was established in 1985 by Chip and Cathy Stroud; Four Seasons in 1984 by Ronnie and Johnny Allen. Both companies share common goals, including a commitment to providing quality products and superior service, developing deep relationships with other businesses in the marketplace, ensuring total customer satisfaction and partnering with salons as they continue to grow.

“Having known Chip and Cathy for most of the 24 years I have been in the tanning industry, there was no doubt in my mind about merging with American Sun Systems; it’s a perfect fit,” says Ronnie Allen, chairman of Four Seasons. “I have the highest respect for them and for their level of integrity. I believe this union will benefit everyone involved.”

The companies also stress that the acquisition simply translates into giving their customers more, including an even greater selection of equipment, retail products, lamps and parts, knowledge, education and solutions in a broader market base—all backed by two prominent names in the industry. Each company has a solid relationship with major suppliers, such as the JK group (makers of Ergoline, Soltron & Sundash), Sunshine Holdings (makers of Australian Gold, Designer Skin and California Tan lotions) and many others.

In addition, American Sun salons will now benefit from having full access to Four Seasons interactive Web site, www.fsaccess.com, which is a convenient, 24/7 shopping and educational resource.

“We have enjoyed an excellent working relationship over the years with the fine folks at Four Seasons—they are like family,” says Chip Stroud, president of American Sun. “Because of that comfort level, we knew this was the right thing to do for both our customers and our staff. We are sure everyone will quickly establish that same comfort and confidence level under their leadership. This union will create tremendous opportunities for all salons.”

American Sun Systems will continue to operate as usual from its Greensboro, N.C. facility to provide uninterrupted sales and service in the mid-Atlantic area. In addition, the annual American Sun expo will be held Jan. 30-Feb. 1, 2009 at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. Clients are encouraged to call their American Sun representative at (800) 537-9113 with any questions.
