Most moisturizers contain ingredients such as mineral oil, petrolaturm, SD 40 alcohol, lanolin, chemical dyes & colors, chemical fragrances, etc. This is the main reason I switched to Arbonne years ago as they contain none of that junk. I wouldn't put ingredients like the above on my skin yet 98% of moisturizers have some or all of them. And we wonder why the cancer rates are increasing???? Junk in our bodies, junk on our skin and no sunlight. A dangerous cocktail for sure.

I'm not sure what to take out of that article other than the experiment didn't seem to have a great control, nor did the overall focus seem to be tight enough. I was going to send this off to a friend to mock her about an arguement we had in the past about putting things on our skin, but this article really bounces back to UV is bad

First, they tested the moisturizers on mice that were already high risk for tumors. Second, they applied the moisturizer after UV exposure. Something that wasn't mentioned here, but may be possible, is the fact that one should never apply heavy lotions or anything occlusive to overexposed/sunburned skin as it traps heat, prolongs the burn and delays skin healing. Perhaps it was this effect that exacerbated the problem? If they wanted to truly determine whether ingredients in moisturizers caused or worsened tumor growth, they should have isolated application of the lotions and left UV out of the equation altogether.
