Dr Oz on DC talk show
I listen to a DC talk show every morning called the Kane show. It's also broadcast in Tampa i believe and segments run on XM 21. Anyways, Dr. Oz was a guest and a caller called in asking about the swine flu and the vaccine. And if her son didn't have it by now should she be fearful or something like that. Anyways. One of his recommendations was sunlight! We really need to get Oz on board.

I watched his show yesterday and the commercial for Walgreens mentioned all of the things we can do to stay healthy and it said something about sunlight too.

He takes questions from emails. Maybe we can send in a few about sunlight and Vitamin D? See if that gets aired or gets him talking about it more.

Be careful with that. He has yet to recommend tanning. That last thing we need is him on air saying sunlight is good, tanning is bad.

It is all perception like jeff said. When you talk about a tanning salon, what comes to mind. Dumb young girls trying to get black. That's the image that needs to change.

doesn't matter what you call it or what the perception is, I think the best we're gonna get is a sunshine recommendation. It would be very bad news for a "high profile" doc to come out and say "sunshine good, sunbeds/tanning beds bad."
I say leave well enough alone. We've got the tools, use 'em.
