Jessica Simpson is devastated over her upcoming divorce to Nick Lachey.

What's a girl to do when she's feeling blue? Tan! Simpson instantly hit a tanning salon upon her return to Los Angeles this past weekend.

More than losing the Nick from Nick & Jess, Simpson is probably concerned for her bank account, because she and Lachey never signed a pre-nup! This means that, under California law, Nick is entitled to a settlement amounting to half of her total net worth, which - considering her clothes line, her shoe line, her cosmetics line, her music and DVD royalties, and all her other endorsements and sources of income - means that Lachey is gonna make bank!

While her divorce announcement is going to - obviously - cost Jess her marriage, the long-term implications could be more costly for Simpson than whatever Lachey cashes out in divorce court.

In many folks' eyes, Nick is seen as the aggrieved party in their breakup, having to put up with Jessica's perceived childish ways and diva behavior, not to mention the interminable meddling from Papa Joe.

As was widely reported, Joe Simpson made a deal with OK! magazine earlier this year, which gave the new pub exclusive access to the star - including 6 covers on the mag - for a $200,000 price tag. Well, we are hearing loudly that the "friendly" folks at OK! are ****ing pissed at Joe and Jessica! Not only do they feel the Simpson's haven't lived up to their part of the deal, but they are LIVID that mastermind Papa Joe gave their competitor, Us Weekly, the exclusive breakup announcement, especially after Us continued to slag off Nick & Jess for the entire month of November.

And while this is all sad for Jessica, the saddest part of the whole breakup announcement is probably the death of her unborn child. In a rather hilarious turn of events, the day that Nick & Jess announced that their relationship was over was the same day that Star magazine claimed that Simpson was pregnant.

Here is some food for thought - Jessica's career was in the gutter until Nick came along and their show was born. Then she skyrocketed to superstardom.

Its hard to keep a relationship going when you are 4500 miles apart for months at a time.

It is all over the E! Network. The woman whose Daisy Duke performance won over America and whose updo hair is being copied at hair salons is a fan of tanning! So much so that she went tanning as soon as she arrived in Los Angeles once!

Do you realize what an impact this is going to have on the tanning industry? Already the ITA preparing a press release talking about the benefits of someone tanning in a positive light.. This woman is going to do more positive for indoor tanning than any organization has done to date. She is what we have been waiting for!!

Even Boss Hogg is saying behind closed doors that this woman can do no wrong in the sight of the average American. She is a breath of fresh air, not without her faults, but then that just makes her more like the rest of us. We all have our faults. Mine is eating too much of this chicken tuna.. wait, is this chicken what I have, or is it fish? I know it’s tuna, but it says Chicken. By the sea. Is that stupid? Anyway..

Sorry but I just dont see how it is going to be great for the industry. For years she has been in the news as being "tanorexic" and the reason why so many kids are "getting skin cancer from tanning" because they want to look like her. The media will just keep pushing the anti-tanning thing and they will just use her as a bad example.

Also, isnt she a spokesperson for the Skin Cancer foundation? I bet she wont say she UV tans but rather sprays.

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but Jess is so washed up now. The celeb to watch for is Britney. She does spray tanning people and she looks hot. Jess will do nothing for herself let alone the tanning industry. She is a washed up no one now.
