Default Tanning Pros To Assemble For World Summit

Tanning Pros To Assemble For World Summit
The 2005 World Tanning Summit, hosted by the Indoor Tanning Association, is set for Jan. 20-25 on Grand Bahama Island, an ideal environment for business and pleasure. Association and business leaders from all over the world will gather at The Westin at Our Lucaya Beach & Golf Resort to discuss common strategies to advance the interests of the indoor tanning industry worldwide.

“The strengthening effect of this historic gathering, from sharing of regulatory and scientific information to expediting commerce, has already dramatically changed the shape of the tanning industry,” wrote ITA President Dan Humiston in a Sept. 15 letter to ITA members.

“Whether you’re searching for a new foreign supplier or distributor, you want to grow your business, you want to sell your business or you just want to see what your competition is doing, you don’t want to miss this event,” he wrote.

The four-day affair features the summit, a showcase on the state of the indoor tanning industry, an investors conference, and a symposium on scientific and regulatory issues.

In addition to providing a venue for association leaders to discuss international cooperation, the ITA has expanded the scope of the event and created an opportunity for business leaders to participate.

The Wall Street Investors Conference, which will run concurrently with the summit, will introduce the indoor tanning industry to the investment community. Selected tanning salons will have an opportunity to talk about their companies, then venture capitalists and growth capital investors will explain how the venture-capital market works.

Nationally renowned business motivational speaker Tom Peters will present “Re-imagine! Business Excellence in a Disruptive Age.” His book by the same name “outlines how the new world of business works, explores radical ways of overcoming outdated, traditional company values, and embraces an aggressive strategy that empowers talent and brand-driven organizations where everyone has a voice,” according to the Tom Peters Co.

The first World Tanning Summit, in 2003 in New York, brought together more than 30 leaders representing 11 associations from all corners of the globe.
