Exclamation Bridal Show HELP!!!!!!

I have done a search on Bridal Shows on here, and I have seen people say that they have done it, but not really saying how well it did for them.

We have one in our area coming up and I want to know is this something worth while getting into, or is it just a waste of money?

If it was profitable...how so?

What did you promote and give out to get people to show up?

I need answers ASAP because I have to give my answer tomorrow on if we want to be a part of it or not.

Side note good news....we will be the only tanning salon there!!!!

I need more info--how much is the investment and what are you getting out of it? Who's sponsoring the bridal show? how many vendors are going to be there? what kind of advertising is being done to promote this show?

If you have more than one salon at least 4 go for it. You will have a lot of woman at the event but they have to be close to your salon. If you are in a small town and it's an event for the town, go for it.

It is $350. to do the Bridal Show. It has tons of promoting going on. The $350. gets me a 8x10 space, 6ft table with black curtian runner., and a banner with our name on it.

There is over 200 vendors and they have 2 bridal shows a year, but this is the BIG ONE!

I so think I should since we would be the only tanning salon there.

Also we live in a area where people do nothing but outdoor weddings. So I think it would make sence just for that reason as well.

Okies, thanks so much for your replies so far!

I just went to our small town's annual bridal show last weekend. It cost $165.00 for an 8 ft. table (that's all we got). There were approx. 22 ventors & we were the only tanning salon. Our bridal show gathers the names, addresses & wedding dates of the brides as they enter the show room floor. They mail us this list in about a week, so we have a nice mailing list to use for future promo's. That being said, it is not necessary for us to gather this info. from the brides at our specific table. However, we do want to gather the names of the bridesmaids, mothers and friends that accompany them to the bridal show. What we handed out to every bride was a free lotion packette with a coupon for 1 free tan at our salon. Then we would say: "We didn't forget all of you bridesmaids & mothers. You can register to win 2 free tans." We would have them fill out a slip of paper with their name & address and check off a box whether they've ever tanned at a salon before. Voila! Now we have increased our mailing list. I may award several of these 2 free tans just to get more people in my salon. Also, we had info. on our table in regards to how to go about tanning in time for your wedding. We had some lotions on display. We sampled a moisturizer at our table. If they liked it, I gave them a coupon for some free tans w/ purchase. This coupon also had some info. about why you shouldn't use a lotion that has mineral oil - of course I promoted the fact that none of our lotions had mineral oil. Hope this helps.

$350 doesnt seem all that much to risk. Go for it.

We are doing a Bridal Show this weekend at a cost of $300.00 for 6ft table, the show is tropical themed and we are the only Tanning/beachwear store. We are in a small town and the show will have 35-40 vendor tables. Advertising in local paper this week and follow up on show next week.
We are taking Free Tan Cards to leave on table and I have sample packets of Hempz Moisturizers, sample packets of Tanning Lotion and samples of Kashmere salt scrub.
We also have a local college student that will help with the booth and wear one of our swimsuits with a nice cover-up.
I'm doing a Bridal Special Package that includes a tanning pkg, salt scrub, moisturizer and tanning lotion for $xx...
We are going to have gift certificates avail for purchase at the table.
Good Luck to All..

Wow gottatanfl that sounds AMAZING!!

I am thinking of making up a newletter of facts to hand out to people (The title being "Everything Under the Sun") With a coupon saying "Bring this is for xx ammount off a tanning package.

Then offering bridal packages where if the bride gets xx ammount of gift certificates for her bridal party she gets one month of free tanning.

I also make my own after tan moisturizure so I am bringing that along with me in little sample cups. And maybe also samples of the After Body Spray I make as well.

Any thoughts on posters to bring? Maybe "How a Tan Works" or "How a tanning bed works"???

Thanks again for everyone's help!!!!

Which by the way is another WAY cool idea. Dang! Where have you been all my life LOL.

Thanks again!!

Make sure they give you the mailing lists for the brides and the email sign ups for future email blasts.

They do Pink, I am also wondering how to market to them after the show as well. I don't want to sound like a pain in the butt telephone person. So I am thinking of sending out some postcards.

Or does anyone else have any thoughts?

I did a Bridal show in Decemebr, I made up flyers to hand out about Tanning Specials for the bridal party and I also had on the flyer if 4 or more people in the bridal party brought a package the bride gets to tan for free. I have got 6 bridal partys tanning with me now..

That is what I wish for suntanz3!!
I was thinking of doing something like that.

Now I was thinking of making a 8 1/2 x 11 sign that says "Get a Tan Your Friends will Admire, Look Your Best in Your Wedding Attire" and then list "other" reasons to tan for instance.....

Healthy Glow
Makes you feel good
Get ready for your honeymoon
So you don't look as white as your wedding dress

And then I am lost as to what else to add. In St. George like I have said before, 90% of all weddings are outdoors or at least the reception is.

I just got a TON of lotion sample packets from Designer Skin so I am thinking of bringing those with me and for everyone that signs up even for a small package can get any 2 free samples.

Any other thoughts as what to give out? (Besides candy since people will stop just for that LOL oh and business cards cause well I know that is a smart thing too hahaha)

We did a Bridal show in September. The gal hosting the event didn't do a good job advertising or promoting the event so there were less than 100 guests.

We were the only tanning salon there and we were given time on the runway to actually do an air-brush spray tan. I enlisted one of my college-aged customers to be sprayed.

There was a lot of talk going on about how spray tanning turns you orange etc. After they saw the results, everyone was very impressed. I did get 2 spray tans from the show and a lot of them took literature.

I would probably do another Bridal show, but I would want to be in one where there were a lot more people attending ...

Sorry my power point is directed totally to my salon, with info about the beds we have, pictures of salon, and a brief informational note on vitamin D. I can email it to you, if you have power point and you can change to fit your own store.

As for the bridal expo, our paper has been advertising the show since Jan 1, small little inserts every week. today they did half a page with all vendors listed, about 30 vendors and we are the only tanning salon and the only swimsuit store.

We have a local girl modeling for us at the show, we are not doing alot of freebees at the expo, instead we are offering free tan cards, that way they have to come to store for something free. Also doing a jar on table for them to drop name and address in to register for a free tanning package.
