| Is this the Plaintiff's MySpace? Her MySpace blog claims she was pregnant in January 2006 and the lawsuit claims she was tanning until May 2006. Hmmmmm..... This just gets curiouser and curiouser....

H T Tans very first ? to the anti sun derm who is there to support the case against HT Should be ,Have you ever lied to anyone in regards to sun exposure? Have you ever lied to the press about sun exposure? Use this court case to prove that derms are the liars that they have made themselves out to be. Make them prove that tanning is the evil thing they make it out to be, not in the press wich is easy when supported by advertising $$$$, but in court where you go to JAIL FOR LIES!!!!!! |

Bloggers in pajamas brought down Dan Rather's forgery scam. It's amazing how much info is out there in public cyberspace! Not always correct of course... but sometimes well worth the intense search. What will the gumshoe tanning detective find next? |

I went looking for a copy of the lawsuit but I couldn't find it online. I don't think NJ courts are that net interactive. Could someone from NJ walk into the Middlesex County Superior Court Clerk of Courts Office and get a copy of the lawsuit to post? __________________ si vis pacem, para bellum "The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing." -Frank Zappa. Was her "minor" in DNA effects of UV light 101? Did she "play dumb" to effect a "sting". If so.. the glove don't fit and you must acquit. The very same law group taking on this "case" has probably gotten their share of real criminals off because of some kind of police entrapment technicality. This situation smells of reverse entrapment and should also (in my opinion) be dismissed - pronto. . | ||

| Hall of Famer Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Virtual Reality Posts: 2,429 | City tanning salon giant mum on hidden dangers, says suit By Julian Kesner The country's largest chain of tanning salons was burned with a class action suit yesterday charging it failed to warn customers of the potential dangers of browning indoors. Hollywood Tanning Systems, which operates a dozen salons in Manhattan, Brookyn and Staten Island, never told customers the tanning beds could be dangerous, says the suit. It was was filed in New Jersey and does not allege that anyone has actually been injured. Lead plaintiff Hadis Nafar, of Middlesex County, said he purchased monthly tanning packages at a local Hollywood Tans salon from April 2005 to March 2006 and was never warned about the potential danger of getting skin cancer or other health problems. "Rather than perpetuate false myths about 'safe tans' and the so-called benefits of tanning at their indoor facilities, Hollywood Tans should be warning customers about the real risks of indoor tanning, and the links between indoor tanning and skin cancer," said class action attorney Lindsay Held. Hollywood Taning Systems Inc. did not return multiple calls and e-mails for comment yesterday. Its Web site contends tanning can help with weight loss, psoriasis, acne, stress and seasonal affective disorders. But Dr. Sumayah Jamal, a dermatologist at NYU Medical Center, disagrees. "I never recommend that my patients go to tanning salons," Jamal said, adding that he recommends sunless tan lotions. Source |

| All Star Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Los Angeles Posts: 65 | First, since the so-called "potential dangers" have never been proven, this is nothing more than a nuisance suit. A fraud who abuses the tort system got a couple of ambulance chasers -- or is working in concert with them, to file suits against carefully planned targets. Now, can you imagine the expense they'd have to go to to bring in "expert" witnesses and depose them? No way are they going to underwrite that on contingency, and no way is a lab tech able to afford that kind of litigation. What's hoped for is that the insurance company will say, "It'll cost us $50,000 to defend this, let's give them $10,000 to shut up and go away." Personally, if a person is involved in this sort of action, it's a sure bet that she's scammed other businesses. I'd refer it to the State Attorney General for investigation of a tort or insurance fraud ring. |
