Beach Bum, why didn't you look me up at the show? I was trying to get Mods to have their pic taken with the IST Industry Choice Award. __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan |

I thought the ISO beds where really great looking. We also spent a lot of time with the SkinScience crew, and we thought they were the best looking lotion at the show. |

| All Star Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Wherever I want Posts: 71 | I thought the show was bare. I was suprised how small the attendance was this year. I do not know if it's because ticket prices are so high so everyone is leaving their staff at home, or just a state of the industry. UWE I liked their new IBED but of course it is HIGH priced. I could just give everyone a free ipod, and put them in my UltraSun beds and come out better. In fact, I might try that one! Ergoline: I do not want to like them, but they came out swinging. They have the best choices for every level, and they will whore it out. God love em. Sport: It was hard to go over and look at their space. The colors come at you and you need to look away, and look back to regain focus. ISO: I had to drag my wife away from the booth. Bright shiny looking beds that where calling her name. It could have been the Italian men, but she claimed it was there beds. Sunless: I never went to the sunless booths, my love affair is over with sunless KBL: Where did they come from? Once again my wife liked their beds, and thought they where "shiny". I will believe her on this one since there was not Italian men in the booth. Lotion: Who knows? It all looks the same. I thought the inscience booth was the best, and they were not screaming at you and throwing things. They also did not look like everyone else with shrink wrap crap. Financing: I think Quest was there, but maybe they were in the TanCo franchise booth? I could not tell. Beneficial and Tommell had a booth, and the little red head girl was in the KBL booth. Rumors, Gossip, Parties. I missed a lot of it because we were so tired from the shinning hotel. I wanted to scream RedRum, RedRum, down the halls . I heard the Tanco guys were fighting someone, and had to be broken up from trying to hit a woman. The ITA party was fun, but there didn't appear to be any action going on anywhere. The night life, and private parties where few and far between. The round bar, and Jack Daniels seemed to be busy. There were new faces, and no one to really make fun of. The Wedge: I did not want to look at this new invention. If we had them, who would want to use our standup? Teeth Whitening: I think this will be the new craze, and I have been looking at www.beyondent.com . I never saw the one at the show, they must have been tucked away somewhere. I would have to rate the trade show on a scale 1-10 a 4 or 5. |

Alan, sorry, I was busy when you called a the show, Rick Matoon had left and then you didn't call back. THE SHOW. Smaller but put together nicely EXCEPT.....someone needs to enforce some rules about HEIGHT.....Great use of curtains to make the UWE booth, ETS booth and others actually look like the END of the show floor and block out booths behind them. Some of the country folks don't have the stamina to walk alls the ways back thar jest lookin' round fer stuff. UWE- Giving away sunboards now...and the ITUNES bed actually reaches and can maintain orbit around earth for 6 days. Only LANCE BASS can afford it though. Ergoline/JK....What can you say...except for UWE's frosted acrylics still looking nicer, Ergo looks like a Mercedes dealership. Just make sure every salon in town doesn't have the same beds. And Sunlynk is affordable now. ISO...The "compact" bed didn't look compact. Just looked nice. Made the old Matrix/L33 look old....and the TA stuff look, well, American. Tan America. Those beds still look nice even though they were all designed in the 80's. Nothing bad to say about the LP beds. Wish they looked pink in the store though. Nice lighting effects. KBL...Can you say CHROME....Except for the Gargoyle defending the entrance to the booth, and the hippie chick who doesn't know what hair conditioner is, Great looking beds. Do they Tan? Meter numbers anyone? Supre: Same lotions different bottles. But BETTER different bottles so more fun stuff to sell. Caltan.com Many people are freaking out on this DOT COM THING. I reserve judgement, and I like their new moisturizer. Don't like the big bottles for low prices though. Liked watching girls get 18 spray booth treatments. Good color after the 19th for sure. ETS...busy booth. Didn't go in Future Ind. Amazingly, they seemed overshadowed. But who cares, their beds speak for themselves. Comentary 1. The ITA is doing a PRO TANNING magazine for salons to distribute...4 issues. With doctors who tan and pro tanning research etc....FANPHUKINGTASTIC....Everyone needs to buy these this season to distibute in the stores. Put them on every clean bed instead of a "this bed is clean sign".....you buy all four isssues, CHEAP, up front, and pass out a new mag every 6 weeks or so. This is YOUR responsibility to our industry and every salon MUST MUST MUST do this. (If you don't know what i am talking about...FIND OUT...call smart tan or ITA and find out now...they are taking bulk orders now to figure out the print run. ONE PRINT RUN ONLY for best price, so figure this out NOW!) Comentary 2. Pick a site..tanning truth or tanning facts and put the web site on ALL OF YOUR ADS FOREVER....small type on all ads. Pro tanning info for 25,000 salons to advertise pro tanning info to the public.....it can only help and takes up 1/20th of the space on your ad. Comentary: What the hell is everyone now wearing ORANGE FOR? What is up with all the "Rascal" carts running people over. Except for the cripples, these people are fat for a reason....WALK. My shins are sore from all that walking. Robbie, your getting shorter. MR Int. looks very interestingly good. Saturn HP, no just for meter freaks anymore Teeth whitener....There is a better one than was at the show coming out in one week. With exclusive territories..wait a bit. The wedge. WTF? Non smoking. Yea, that worked. Hello World...coming soon to everyone. Fingers are tired. Time for everyone to flame me on ************ now. Have at it. I almost bought the Real magazines from Smarttan. Is the ITA selling them too? They have four issues and the cost range from like 40 cents an issue to 18 cents. You have to buy over 10,000 copies to get the 18 cent. I was looking at 5000 issue and it was going to be 24 cents I think. Told them to give them to me for 18 cents and they said no. So I didn't buy them. The magazines are like 4 inch by 6 inch and had about 40 pages to it. |

We actually left the show Saturday after the morning sessions to go into Nashville, then came back. Got to expensive to eat at the Opryland. I remember it being overpriced, but it seem to be even more expensive this year. I expect to overpay at a place like Opryland Hotel, but they just screw you. $2.50 for a coke or bottle water, $2 for a bag of chips. All the resturaunt entrees were $30 and up. Now the sports bar and the Jack Daniels Saloon were reasonable. You could get a burger or sandwich for $10. |

If that is a bad turnout then amazing turnout must mean you cannot walk because you will bump into people. Everywhere I went there were good amounts of buyers. Most all vendors said they were having a good show as far as sales was concerned. I will tell you that on the show floor there were more luggage being carted from lotion booth to lotion booth then the entire Baggage Claim at the Nashville Airport. __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan |

I wanted to get as many of the Mods to have their picture taken with the IST Trophy. Guess we will have to win it again next year to make that a reality. __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan | |

| Checks and Balances Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Maryland Posts: 6,163 | I saw one mention of Done Deal Leasing but Kurt didn't even know who they were. I thought they were going to be out at the show in force??? I still couldn't find anyone who know who they were. Tommel was there. Lease Process was there. Where was the Highline Capital booth? Where was the Done Deal Leasing booth? I was bummed to say the least. And where was Drew? We supposedly were on the same floor within feet from one another but couldn't ever meet up. I must have walked that floor 30 times in 5 hours. My feet were looking for a new owner Saturday night. Thankfully it was a one day show for me. What really puzzles me is that Solarmeter was not there. I heard people asking one another, "if only I could buy a meter, I would know truly when my lamps are shot". __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan |

| All Star Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: The Beach Posts: 101 | Paul,The control panel on the versaspa is easy to use. I think it’s very simple you can send all the codes from your software to the Tmax timer system on board. You would not use the control panel for each session only for adjusting settings another feature I liked its all digital. Yes doing a face or leg tan requires you to input the approximate height of the client. It takes about 10 seconds to do. We trained on it and it’s really very simple. Saturday when we stopped by the booth to train they were doing sessions on the one in front spraying shimmer on faces and there was a line of about 15 people waiting to use it. I am really excited about getting ours in it seems that because of the options you can get many more people to use the unit, not just sunless tanners. In fact I really think we will do more sessions with the other products than the sunless applications because more people use moisturizers and tanning lotion than spay tan. You are right about one thing it’s a great experience getting sprayed really a world different that anything out there right now. Wish me luck I get mine in December. |

| Moderator Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: south east Posts: 1,559 | Allan, you got a great deal if you ate for less then $10. I got a pulled pork sandwich from Corky's, it was $9.75, then $2.50 for a bottle water (or any drink) and $2 for a cup of slaw that contained 3 bites. And hey, I'm not cheap. I just hate to get ripped. My wife and I easily spent over $100 a day on meals there, probably close to $200. |

The fish down there were huge. I wish I had my fishing rod with me. Pulled Pork Sandwich: $6 Baked Beans: $2 Dr. Pepper: Buck Something Eating with EZ Livin Jim: Priceless. Jim's salon is really close to my new home. Sure he cuts and pastes alot but when did that become a bad thing? He does know this industry, runs a smooth operation in Odenton, MD and helped me out by bringing the award back by car. You see, the airport would have flagged me at the gate for having a deadly weapon. It's heavy and has sharp edges! __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan Last edited by Alan @ TanToday : 30th October 2006 at 01:46 PM. |
