I own a nice salon you can check out @ Splashtan.com. We offer White Science Teeth Whitening process. I am also the distributor for White Science of Texas. The initial investment is $7,500.00 which brings in $200.00 for each treatment. Huge potential for financial gain and very effective smile rejuvenation. Can Call Justin @512-863-6400

As I've shared with Le before, I have the Beyond White, my partner sells them, and it has been very successful for us and the others who've used them.

I have heard - but do not know if it is true - that only dentists are "authorized" to use the Zoom system - so don't know if you would run into issues there or with your dental board if you advertised it as Zoom or tried to use any of their marketing materials (if any would come with a used system).

The system I use was approved by both the dental and cosmetology boards in Ohio - one of the most regulated states for tanning anyway. Again - I've heard (from clients, friends) of more than a few people who said they had tooth sensitivity issues with Zoom -- we've never had any with ours.

Don't know anything about pricing on the Zoom. For ours, you get some marketing materials (stand up posters, door posters, before and after book,...), the light kit, and start-up supplies. It basically pays for itself by the time you have used 25 kits (either 25 full treatments, or the equivalent in "mini-treatments).

Does it work? Yes.

Does it LOOK like it would work (e.g. "dentist-like" looking)? Yes

Have we had a LOT of repeat and/or referral business (which I take as a good sign of satisfaction from users)? Yes

Is it easy to add to the salon, can you set up programs that "fit" the price points salon users are used to paying, can you combine it in interesting ways with tanning packages and/or other spa services, is it a "hot" marketing trend right now, is the price investment small enough that almost any salon can "justify" or afford it, if it is just a "trend" and eventually slows down will you already have made your money from it and more, ........ Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes!

We don't do other retail besides tanning lotion and we don't offer other "spa" stuff - just UV and sunless. But for us - it has been a very good investment and I would do it again.

Thank you.

I am considering a used Zoom for $500.00 (that is 1/10th of a new Beyond system).

Why is the beyond system 5K and a brand new Zoom less than 2K?

They look identical and the light is a small part of the process (if any). Plus they have the number one brand recognition in the industry.

I am checking with my lawyer but it looks like you can have a Zoom, but Discus Dental will not sell to anyone but a licensed dentist (so you have to buy used or have a dentist you know buy one for you). Thus, why I will not be able to get the kits either.

Since both systems use a brush on technique, I would think I could use the Beyond kits with the Zoom device?

Thoughts?

I just can see paying 5K for the same thing a dentist can get for less that 2K just because I am a salon.

Like I said - I really don't know anything about Zoom's pricing, what they offer, how the light technology, and "stand" itself compare, etc. Ditto why Whitescience is $7500.

Not sure if you can buy the Beyond kits to use with the Zoom system. I'm sure everyone is concerned with liability, and don't know what would happen if you had a complaint and tried to narrow it down to "is it the fault of the machine or the solution?".

Can you say you are using the "Zoom" system if you aren't using their products? Would that be like the case Mystic tried to make for only being "official" if you use their myst with their booths? Is there any legality issue with Zoom? Or just get it and not call it "zoom"?

You could say "Treatments performed with the industry leading Zoom whitening device" or "we use the official Zoom Whitening light". You would run in to legal trouble if you said "system".

There is a valid issue to your comment concerning liability however.

I am just having a hard time paying so much more for an un-known name in the teeth biz. Everyone knows the name Zoom at least in my market).

I might partner up with a local dentist so I can offer the whole Zoom2 system.

Why can’t the system be more reasonably priced? I guess that is what I don’t get.

Another Question:

Have there been any Beyond systems set up in Indiana yet? If so can you confirm that there is no problem with our state board?

Thank you
