You came for answers, you got them. You don't like them, too bad.

Define 'best'. And how do you know they're the best? What experience do you have with them versus others?

See you think I'm just being a jerk but the truth of the matter is THAT IS ALL THE SALON IS WORTH.

If there are no profits, what are you buying? Beds, client base & buildout. You will get nothing for the buildout should you have to close... so technically that has no value. Now you're at client base. They are not doing a good business, so that obvisouly needs help too -- very little value. Now beds... do a google search right now and you will see the same beds for less than $2k.

Max value of the business -- $6k beds + let's say $2k for the client base. That's $8k.

Tanning Queen says she paid $10k for her salon. It was a NICE salon in the suburbs of Phila (NICE suburbs) and she only closed it to care for her dying mother, it was profitable (over $200k a year GROSS) and she paid $10k, does that tell you anything?

I'm taking time away from my own PROFITABLE business to help you. You asked for help. I gave you sound advice, as did TQ.

Maybe you just don't have business savvy? and I should let you overpay for a business you will work for peanuts a month? Its really your decision...

Word of mouth and location make up for 95% of how my customers found me. Sometimes you can advertise all you want...you might as well throw your money out the window.

Why are you upset when we tell you it is worth LESS than what they are asking? It isnt YOUR salon so you shouldnt be offended. Why do you care if you hurt their feelings with a low offer? If you like over paying for stuff, I have a few houses that I can sell you.

Thanks Suze for pointing out the obvious with him. ANd thanks for the compliments. We still need to get together for a drink!

Oh, the owners were asking $35k when I came along, then offered it to me for $25k. I came back with $10k and they JUMPED at the chance. I saved myself $15k. Their NET was the same as what you are showing.

One of my BFFs paid too much for her place. I, like another cool Susan I know, was a Realtor in a past life and negotiated a great deal for myself.

There is no reason to think you can't turn this salon around and make a good profit from it, but there is no reason to pay more than you should for a dud either.

They are making so little money, they will take ANY offer just to get out -- just like my old owners, just like my BFF's, just like TanningQueen's.

Now buy it for nothing, work it hard & smart for 5 years and sell it off for a huge profit!

Look, you came here for answers and we are giving the truth. I dont really care if you like it or not, but the deal is that the salon is crap and isnt worth more than $10k. IF that offends your friends, then so be it. I wish I had friends like you that would pay more for my stuff than it is worth.

I understand the whole pay more than its worth , if thats the case why do people want to know the beds ? and what they are worth , if thats the case the beds are at least worth 10k and the client base would have to be worth something ? , trust me I would love to get it for 10k but I dont think its possible , I think more like 25k is . also I beleave with marketing the salon and advertising right , it could make more money .

Or it might not. Why doesn't everyone already know about it if it's the nicest and best place? Do they not have a phone book? If you think you know what it's worth, why did you ask? Unfortunatley for you, they weren't in the market to sell. You just decided you thought you wanted to buy it. If you have that $25K kickin' around, fill your boots. But you need to think that maybe the money you invest in marketing might not have much ROE and you will be making what it does now, less the wages.
