I tell customers that say that, "I will not apologize for the prices I charge, I offer upgraded equipment and you will achieve a great tan, but, if you want cheaper prices and not get a great tan you can go down the street". I do not mention upscale salon because a customer is not interested in tanning at a upscale salon. They can see it is an upscale salon. I am not rude about it and I say it sweetly. They end up buying at my salon.

I also have a good one for all of you. We change our lamps for most levels every 400 hours so our beds are very strong.
me: What lotion are you using?
them: I'm not
me: Don't you want to get the most color out of your session? not to mention take better care of your skin.
them: no, I'm happy with the color I'm getting without it.

How do I increase my lotion sales when my customers are happy with the color they get from the bed? This is very frustrating!

well with a lotion, they can achieve the same color with even fewer sessions than they need now, plus their tan will last even longer as it will not just be a surface tan as it is now without the lotion. they will tan deeper with a lotion so when they exfoliate every 5-7 days they will still have a tan. Not to mention the incredable things lotion does for the skin, such as help fight free radicals. has antioxidents, vitamins for the skin , anti wrinkles. etc.

You know if they're rated for 800 hours, they're most likey just as 'strong' at 700 hrs as they are at 400. Do you meter them? Changing lamps at 400 hrs is throwing your money away IMO, unless you're buying cheapo lamps with no life.
