| Well I just started working in the tanning business and I've been reading some of the posts and threads on this website and thinking about the horror stories some of yall have shared about disrespectful, sometimes down right dirty customers thinking to myself "wow I've been really lucky" and then tonight, I had just changed all the trashcan liners so when this guy came out of his bed and had thrown a lotion packet in the trashcan I thought I would just grab it and throw it in the big trashcan. Well I go to throw it in the large trashcan and see that I have clear/white stuff all over my hand, denying that it could be what I really thought it was I smell it to prove to myself it must just be lotion, well it wasn't, it had a very distinctive smell, so I go to the small trashcan in the room and find the rest of this kids load at the bottom of this new liner. Looks like I had to change it anyways. Sick!!!!!!! Needless to say I spent forever cleaning that bed having no idea what all went on in this room. I'll never look at that guy OR HIS GIRLFRIEND, who tans here also, the same way again. |

| Moderator/Arbonne VP | My employee called me last night and we had a happy pee'er. Poor girl stuck her hand in it to get the paper towels out. Yuck! We will just take the wastebasket out of the room next time she tans. She'll get the message that we know without confrontation. Why is it always women who do this? Ugh! I allowed her to post it hoping she would learn that she is not the only one to deal with this crap. But my question is, how do you deal with the customer? We obviously didn't save the evidence to confront them with. Should I just let it be? I know it will happen again with him or someone else. Anyone have advice on this? |

We had guys who would be dipping (smokeless tobacco) while they were tanning and spit in our trash cans. The pee thing I could handle but not spitting your tobacco spit. Now we have 4 trash cans placed in different spots around the salon. Amazing how much less trash there is now, the savings on trash can liners, and how much easier (not to mention quicker) it is to collect trash!!! |

They will put whatever it is they are doing somewhere else. There's been plenty of posts about wether to use trash cans or not. Do a search to learn pros and cons from experience. |

Either one will make them think twice before using them as a toilet. Since we go in the room and clean after each customer we would know if someone "relieves" themselves in any way, #1/#2/#3 (you know what I mean ). I wouldn't hesitate to confront them and, after listening to them try to justify what they did, I'd tell them they were not welcome anymore. Let's face it, if someone has a problem/emergency that prevents them from getting to the bathroom they are going to apologize and offer to clean it up. Some jerk-wad doing his thing (pun intended) anywhere in my salon will be lucky if I don't kick his ass. The salon is a public facility and cleanliness/sanitation should be your number one priority. |

That's the best i can do for an explanation from a penis perspective for those that don't have one. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. Compress garbage (mostly empty packettes and winkees). Then change the trash can liners every few days. You need never have to reach in there to save a trash can liner. |

| Rookie Join Date: Jul 2005 Location: Utah Posts: 15 | We have been through it all at our salon as well. Just last month we had a 14 year old come in and when she came back to the lobby to wait for her friend, my employee noticed a nasty smell that was unmistakably feces. She went back to clean the room and noticed that the trash can liner was MISSING and began a frantic search of the salon to find it. After grilling the 14 year old and being repeatedly lied to, the liner was finally found hidden in another room. Fortunately we were only an hour from closing so the employee immediately closed the salon due to horrible stench and the sanitizing process began. Here's where it gets interesting.. there was fecal matter on the walls and floor as well and I called the mother of this girl to tell her that we would not welcome this girl back into the salon. The mother seemed fine with that decision. However, 5 days later the mother calls me and asks me to reconsider letting this girl come back. I told her I would discuss it with the partners and call her with a decision. I was leaning toward NO WAY! Meanwhile, the lady who was with the girl at the time of the incident threatened one of my employees with a petition and smear campaign if we did not let this girl come back. SHEESH! Who would want to come back after something like that anyway? In the end we relented and said she could come back under strict supervision.. but she hasn't been back yet. Bottom line, people are nasty. I told my husband the other night that I am just a glorified janitor. Luckily most of my clients are great people. |
