I was thinking about some sort of referral program for existing high school tanners (like maybe one free tan for each referral, or free tan when friends buys a package, or something like that.) That way it is a good thing for the existing tanners who have already been spending their money here, but bringing bodies in as well... thoughts? Any other ideas for "special occasion" tanners? __________________ Money isn't the most important thing in life, but it's reasonably close to oxygen on the "gotta have it" scale. -Zig Ziglar |

Teens around here have a lot of disposable income, and seem to be the ones come in a lot, even over the summer. Are they worth it? Although I have a good mix of customers, I'd say the majority are women over the age of 40. __________________ Money isn't the most important thing in life, but it's reasonably close to oxygen on the "gotta have it" scale. -Zig Ziglar |

| YeahYeah Join Date: Mar 2008 Location: Somewhere south of Canada and North of Cuba Posts: 335 | Personally I hate promotions or discounts only open to a specific segment (Other than new first time tanners.) If I offer a promo or disc, it's open to all. I tried to bring in the prom crowd (ours was a few weeks ago), but won't do much next year. I think a dozen or so girls came in, but I did not lower my prices for them...just ran a promo for all and had it advertised directly with the HS. If you core customers are not part of the deal, then I think you risk PO them. Plus why fill your salon with discount tanners while your good paying ones have trouble getting in or dealing with the kids. Oh and no matter what you think the kids have in terms of money...guess what, the parents always have more so I'd much rather get them in the door (plus the are more likely to understand the benefits of products/upgrades) |
