We had a small rubber fire start at 3 in the morning from the compressor starting up on its own over night. The gasket or whatver got caught up and burned up and smoked out the place. Had we left it alone, it would have caught fire according to the firemen. I learned to turn off the compressor every nite after that! Had I stayed there I would have added cameras for sure. I dont think you can really run a good salon without them. One to catch jackasses and two to use as training tools. __________________  |

FYI, we had to add a few wireless transmitters for our home security system during our remodeling project. You can find good deals on eBay. Just make sure they are new in box and the seller is reputable. I had someone steal the copper off of my A.C. unit which wasn't the worst. BUT this Thursday I got a call at 8:00am to inform me my shop was broken into. I thought the worse. Fortunately I had some great glass in my door and the window next to it and the person never made it in. BUT they tried REALLY hard. So they gave up and hit the flower shop next to me. They had just regular glass and they got in. I'm now shopping for cameras. |

Most alarm companies that do the monitoring will install a complete system for free if you sign up for a 2 year contract. We have one that is 25.00 bucks a month, and the system has all the "bells-n-whistles" including panic buttons and cellular back-up. |

| Hall of Famer Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: michigan Posts: 1,369 | Re: Does Your Salon Have A Security System? i just have a video monitor right in the lobby showing 4 different veiws of the lobby. intent is on security of the salon for at night while closed as the monitor really shows bright at nite when most lights are off in the salon....also it helps immensely with the non theft of lotions on display!! its quite the deterant(sp) to theft. |
