Default Selling body care products, shampoo, lip balm, etc.

Thinking about bringing in more moisturizers, shampoo, lip balms etc to try and increase retail sales with slow season on the horizon. Anyone have success doing so? I saw in one of the mags a company doing private label lip balm in multiple flavours. Now I can't find that issue?

Same here there are several reps in the area so I have bowed out.
We carry Jaqua as well since there is no mall near us that carries it, however they offer no protection if the hair salon next door decides to sell it too.
Treat has been great, all natural, organic, and safe for your tan. Her scrubs are actually incrediably moisturizing and make my legs look great without lotion without stripping my tan.
Side note: You aren't going to make your millions selling these products remember that you are still a tanning salon and dont spend a ton getting stuff. Do a small opening order and store extras in a cool place. This stuff goes bad, and it loses its novelty over time. Its an add on and quick gift. The only exception I have had to that is the scrubs from Treat. As I said I can't even keep them stocked.

I am test marketing a device right now that will end the slow season for most all tanning salons that sell it. I can't say much now for another month or so online but I have never in my 9 plus years seen anything this big that clients want. Once you demo it most all clients will buy it. Under $1,400 investment and 100% Guaranteed or just return it for your money back.

It is backed up by a 1.2 billion dollar company that has been around 24 plus years. Other then Microsoft and Google they have created more millionaires worldwide than any other company.

I can't say much more online other then you will be seeing full page ads in the Tanning Trade mags with a pre-launch in August. There will be a booth at the ITA Trade show in Nashville in September.

Nice thing is you are not stuck with a large investment like a tanning bed and if you don't make it work then you just send it back as a return.

It's going to be big!

Think twice about stocking retail for slow months. If no one is coming in, who will buy it? If it doesn't sell, how will you get rid of it? And how much capital will you risk on this? And how much marketing will you have to do to promote it?

And don't most people buy that stuff at the drug store or hair salon anyway? Why come to a tanning salon for shampoo? Especially if they aren't tanning?

just REALLY think about it.

One thing about Arbonne and having other consultants in the area. That is actually a bonus for you as a salon. I, too, have the same thing. People know that I have the stock on hand and rather than buy it through their consultant and waiting 2 - 3 weeks for it to arrive they know they can get it from me immediately. I made a $122 sale a week ago Thursday just for that reason. She didn't want to wait for her consultant to get it.

And for slow months I would recommend things like the Fizzy tabs and the detox. Shampoos would be the last thing on my list) although Arbonne has great ones. Things that interest those in the summer.
