| All Star | Dear TanToday.com Supporter: I just had the opportunity to meet with Mr. Dan Humiston, Tanning Bed, Buffalo NY. and candidate for the US House of Representative's 27th Congressional District. Dan is interested in conducting an online interview sometime after Labor Day. For those of you who may be interested in this topic: DAN HUMISTON FOR CONGRESS 2008 is his web site. In the interim, I am serving as a liason between his campaign and the online community. He is out trying to meet as many people in the 27th District as possible. Lot's of barbeques, rubber chickens and parades. We would ask that you post your questions and ideas in this forum. As background: the 27th District is the most conservative District in the Buffalo, NY area. This area was long time represented by Jack Kemp (Republican/former Buffalo Bill). It was then followed by another Republican Mr. Jack Quinn who beat the Erie County Dennis Gorski (a leading Democrat). The District is now represented by Mr. Brian Higgins, a very good guy, but not from "OUR INDUSTRY"! Dan is the Republican and Independent candidate. Historically, this combination has done well in that constituency. I would also ask that you consider two things: 1) get involved and let your colleagues know about this campaign and 2) contribute in this quarter whatever you can. Monies are given out by the RNC (Republican National Committee) based on a "candidate's viability". Viability = number of supporters registered on his web site and actual hard dollars raised. Register first and contribute what you can. Our Industry employs almost 500,000 full time and part time people. 5,000 - $100 contributors would be very nice. The $25.00 to $1,000 contributors are nice too. The maximum you can contribute is $4,600 as a person or $9,200 as a couple. It is going to take $1.0 to $1.1 million to run a successful campaign. Our goal is to raise at least $250,000 from our Industry. ($600k for TV, $250k for Radio, $250k for Staff and Operating Expenses). Ready for your questions and ideas. This is not about McCain, this is not about O'Bama, this is about Tanning! Go Bills! (also my hometown, Russert lives on!) Dan has also been president of the ITA (Indoor Tanning Association) for several terms. If you can just donate $25, thats a big help to Dan, as it gives him one more supporter, which the Republicans love! Brenda (written two checks so far) |
