The game i play with employees is,

"Guess who's not getting a pay check this week"

The way it works is, the person that doesn't make any sales, don't get paid.

The Bonus they can get is a paycheck if they make sales. Great motivation.

The easier the contest is to understand, the more participation you will get from the staff. My team loves gift cards and will sell like crazy to win. One month we had a lotion extravaganza contest. Total bottles of tanning lotion divided by hours worked. This made it fair to the part time and full time people. Those that worked the most needed to step up and push the sales daily. All employees had a minimum that needed to be met in order to qualify. In other words, they couldn't rest for the first two weeks and do everything at the end of the month. Each week there was a prize given to the top person and suprisingly, it changed almost every week, but one.

We sometimes play "Beat the Clock". This game is best used during season. Make a list of products/packages in a specific or unspecific order that you would like to be sold during a shift. When the first item on the list is sold, then the employee gets to hold on to the "prize" or "prize voucher" until the next item on the list is sold, then they must pass the prize or voucher to that selling employee. Whoever has the prize or voucher in hand at the end of the shift, gets to keep the prize!! Very fun, competitive, & fast-paced!
