Question Timing More Bed Buying

So, I know by next Spring I am going to have to buy more beds....During April/May (we opened April 1), we were seeing about 150-180 clients per day....I know this year will be alot more. So, if you knew you had to buy more beds, when would you do it?? I have 9 rooms right now and have 5 empty rooms. Fall?? Also, would you stick to the same bed manufacturer, or would you look at others. I would like to get a 4 level and more of my level III's, which is the X5 by ProSun.

forget buying beds, just buy my salon

and maybe raise your prices. Do you like seeing that many people and only making what someone seeing 100 or so was making?

can't move...sorry...I did raise my prices. Yes, I would rather see less and make more $$. But, back to my question, when would you buy more beds? Seems how I can't have your X7...I know, I know, I could if I bought your salon.

I have always added beds in late fall, with the exception of this one I just got. I don't know why just how it seems to work out.

Would start your search now to find out what kind of beds you want to bring in & the cost. You'll have plenty of time to look around & check prices(used of course). Don't want to get too close to your busy months. I am upgrading 2 beds later this month because they are available now.

If you go used plan on relamping no matter what whoever you get it from claims and factor that into your cost.
I have seen some repos that after lamp costs and acrylics I could go new.
Just a suggestion

If I remember from watching the trading post last year price and selection was best in the fall. People changing beds during the slow season, salons closing etc. If you want new I would suggest September after the show when distributors have demo's and show specials

I'm glad someone started this thread, also are there any deals to be had at the show on beds?

I just bought a bed from Ergoline. You can negotiate prices. Just because they tell you its $xyz doesn't mean you can't talk to them.
Floor Models are also a nice way to go

If you're going to be putting in new equipment, IMO it is best to have it all installed and wraped up about 1-2 months before busy season starts. That way if there are any "kinks" to be worked out, you are not dealing with them when it's super busy.

well i feel its good to add the new units a bit earlier than the demand for them will be, simply so you have time to work out any bugs they may have, and also so you have time to see how the unit tans, learn the best way to promote the unit, so when its in high demand, you can roll along with that demand with no problems.

So you were seeing 150 people per day with only 4 beds?

So 14 rooms total? I got confused because you said you had 9 rooms and then 5 empty. I'm easily confused hehe. Either way...great job!
