The problem with facebook is you can't have a profile for your salon page. ( I did and they deleted it) You have to havea group and then market that way with it.

Myspace has been big for us. We look up clients email addresses when they give them to us add them and then start adding their friends. We encourage myspace friends to subscribe to our blog to find out news and specials first

facebook is leaving a lot of money on the table as far as direct marketing goes. I want to be able to target my local HS. It can't be done

I use facebook for personal use....and have info about the salon on there, website, updates, but that is about it....not a whole lot of people are on facebook...as far as myspace...it has a bad rap around here, so I don't use it.

I had my facebook for about 3 months before it got deleted and I got more business from that than I have from my myspace in the 2 years its been up

We use myspace. We don't get a lot of new people from it, but we do get a lot of people who respond to specials we post and info we post about responsible tanning! Thats a start!

I had a facebook ad. Wasn't worht it for me. When they deleted my salons profile, I deleted my ad.

The entire thread is for those interested in Facebook or Myspace.

As for poll counting or not counting, they all count and all have their purposes. This one is to see who is using the above to grow your salons.

They are simply an area to advertise and get clients by branding your salon online for that target market. They should be part of a strategy and NOT THE strategy.

OK so why doesn't everybody put up a link to their own myspace site so that others can gather ideas from it ?

Also it was my understanding that as a business you had to pay for your myspace page ? Am I wrong ?

Myspace annoys me, any webpage that plays music annoys me.

my employee started a group for Island Cove.

I would think which ever is more used in your area will be the one with better results. Facebook and nexopia is used most here.
