| I purchased a salon in April, I feel that I am pulling people in the door good but I don't think my staff is selling very good to the customers. I'm looking for other salon owners to give me an idea on what I should be expecting on average sales wise per person. And I mean on everything form packages, single visits, lotions etc. Just an overall average. Someone told me $10-$20, but I'm not sure that we are in comparable markets and if I should expect that much per person. To give you an idea of my market is our base single visit is $7, a week in a base is $12, and upgrades on average are $4. Anyones ideas are appreciated. |

Markets mean nothing. Your equipment mix and your pricing structure does! __________________ www.islcovetravel.com |

| Super Star | It depends on your bed mix...if you have HP your PPA will be higher. My friend has a bigger salon with bigger higher priced beds...she should be higher than me, but I blow her PPA out of the water since we sell better than her team and she is always discounting lotions. __________________ "Well-behaved women seldom make history." --Laurel Thatcher Ulrich |

This is bc EVERYONE is having to purchase packages, lotions, etc. However, our existing salon which has been in business for 4 years usually averages around $7-$8 PCA. We strive for $9 and my girls know that if their average is not $6 or more they are on probation. If its below $5 and they have had ample training they are fired! |

| Super Star | are you talking about per tanner or per customer for the year...makes a difference. Your per customer should be higher...the per tanner i figure out by dividing my sales by the amount of tans we did for the month or year. __________________ "Well-behaved women seldom make history." --Laurel Thatcher Ulrich |

| Super Star | I do per tanner as a goal for my staff. They cant control how many people come in a day, but they can control how much each tanner brings in. Makes for a better goal than a flat goal of $x per shift. __________________ "Well-behaved women seldom make history." --Laurel Thatcher Ulrich |

In busy season, you should be looking at a higher minimum like $15. Being that it's slow season right now, you should be making at least $10 per person average (PPA) So if you are tanning 45 people a day at an average of $10ppa, you should be bringing in at least $450 in sales total. Anything over $10 a person is good during slow season. Anything under $10 a person, and you need to start making some sales to pay the rent. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. I have HP and my PPA is over $19 for Aug and i'm having a so-so month....see the difference. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. Only way out of that is to buy better beds. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. Plus I think there will be electrical issues. I'm hoping to find a good used one around December and get rid of a standup and a base bed and just put a nice VHR in, hopefully my electrical will handle that |
