Well, I have been open for 1.5 hours now; 5 customers $300.

So the first of the month is starting off well so far, 4.5 hours left of the day. Here is to fingers crossed for more money to walk in the door.

So today there is lots of room for new customers! lol but thats great cause it gives us time to work on getting things put together for our cust ap days!

closed sunday and monday. its not about money! its about having days off for my employee's. clients allow it as well.

why have employees work the day, work it yourself and save the time and half you have to pay them for holidays. Get things done that need to be done, then stage for the rest of the week.

We had 22 tanners $467.00 well worth 6 hours of my day. The day started out pitiful but ended well.

I will anniversay my first year as owner next month. I stayed open every holiday( except Christmas,New years and Thanksgiving) just so I could get some history. History lesson is over. Next year I am closing all the legal holidays. Didn't even make enough to cover payroll.

Stellita3 because most people expected you to be closed anyways, but next year you will closed, and people will remember you were open this year and expect you'll be open. lol Trust me, been there done that. We now leave our stongest/oldest salon open most holidays and do the hours ourselves. Depending on the holiday, we sometimes have the other 2 open just shortened hours.

Friday and Saturday $$ was great.
Closed Sunday and Monday

Saturday was great. sunday and Labor Day sux. Only tanned about 60 people on Sunday & 60 on Labor Day. And made only $600 for both Sunday & Labor Day.

We did reduce hours for Labor day. Only open for 8 hours. Some holidays, like Memorial Day & Labor Day, have been great in the past. You never know what you'll get.

Sure it would be nice to be closed on these days. but it's a retail business. And retail businesses should be open on these days.

Closed sunday monday with no regrets. I need the time off and this time of year the gross isnt worth not taking the mental time off.
