i sell units or stars...points...sessions....whatever you want to call it. i call them stars...sell a grouping of stars...and attach a star value to each unit for use. 1star,2,3,4 etc...
more you spend, more stars you get and better value per star...does'nt matter how many minutes you tan...its x amount of stars off your package.
this can also work as unlimited...
set up is a price for your monthly fee...plus surcharge for each unit. my unlimited is priced @ $49 and includes my level one beds...and surcharges are $3 to $10 for upgrades during the month. i run specials on the upfront fee...and rely on them doing upgrades to make up for the discount to get them thru the door. i sell monthly's usually to newbies, then after they figure out their pattern of tanning...usually they convert to star packages.
hope this helps...

We do sessions, unlimited and EFT. We got rid of our minutes.

We have some of the same equipment as you do. If you want to look at our pricing you can go to Absolute Tan & Spa

Enjoy your day!

Are you talking to me? Well, since I've had the same prices for 15 years I actually think they are a little low. A VHR Suncapsule, IMHO is one of the best machines on the market and most of my customers cannot go the full 12 minutes. They definitely get their money's worth.

It's also going to depend on your market I think. Right now we are using Heraeus but think we are going with something different on the next lamp change. They are great lamps but don't last must past 300 hours. I'd like to get lamps that last a bit longer than that.

I always get cranky when 1 salon owner tells another salon owner that their prices are too high. We should be encouraging each other to keep prices up & congratulating them for getting a good & fair price for their services.

Ummm that's for the Orbit, not the suncapsule. Again same price since 1994.

A good way to figure out your pricing would be to just convert your minute prices to sessions.. for example if the previous owner charged $40 for 60 minutes in level one beds, you'd take $40 divided by 60 to get price per min. which would be $.67. Then times that by how many minutes your bed is.. so if it is a 15 minute bed the price per session should be $10.05.. then you could adjust it a little from there.

Okay, so I started with sessions at our spa, and the customers complained that they wanted minutes. We charge $20 for 100 mins to use a 3200W bed (32--100 watt bulbs), converted into sessions, wouldn't that be 5 sessions for the $20? Doesn't the minutes sound like your getting more for your money, than the amount of session? What would you do to make a change, and at what cost to the clients.

they are getting more with minutes. Not everyone does 20min. If they do 10 min. that's twice as many sessions!!!!

More for them.....and you lose more!!! HENCE why minutes will kill you.
