| Moderator | In This Update: Don't Miss Rick Berman's Presentation At This Year's Expo! 2008 ITA Board of Directors Election Results Presentation by Rick Berman and His Team In Nashville ITA Media Strategy for 2009 5:30 pm, Saturday, September 20, 2008, Governors Ballroom North, Gaylord Opryland Put in on your schedule -- coming on the heels of the highly successful media relations program Rick developed for the industry last year, Rick will unveil his recommendations and strategy for 2009. Last year, close to 400 industry professionals met the Berman Team and we are expecting at least that many again September 20. Don’t miss it! The 2008 Board of Director’s Election Results Are In! Record Number of Industry Leaders Join ITA Board! The ITA is pleased to announce that the 2008 election for the ITA Board of Director’s was a great success. All of the candidates ran strong campaigns and the races were close throughout the entire election process. This year’s races in the Salon Sector saw record breaking numbers of people nominated to fill the four board seats (a total of nine) and a record number of votes cast. In the Salon Sector alone, the Board will welcome three new members. “There were very exiting and close fought contests both in the Salon Sector as well as in the Lotion and Equipment Manufacturing Sectors” Executive Director John Overstreet said. “It is gratifying to see so many people willing to get involved. It will also be a pleasure to welcome back Susan Miller, PC Marketing” Overstreet added. “Susan was a founding member of the ITA and a leader in setting the association’s initial goals.” The seats in the Allied Products and Distributor Sectors were not contested. The ITA congratulates the following Board members on being elected and reelected: Allied Products Jim Shepherd - Sperti Sunlamps, Crescent Springs, Kentucky Distributor Sector Karen Bentlage – Future Industries, Stratford, Connecticut Equipment Manufacturers Greg Henson - Heartland Tanning Inc, Lee's Summit, Missouri Susan Miller - PC Marketing, Inc., Ridgefield, New Jersey Lotion Provider Lewis Henry - Devoted Creations, Inc, Oldsmar, Florida Salon Sector Dan Caskey – Cincinnati Tan, Cincinnati, Ohio Tony Hartl - Planet Tan, Garland, Texas Dan Humiston - Tanning Bed Inc., West Seneca, New York Rick Kueber - Sun Tan City, Elizabethtown, Kentucky In related developments, the Board appointed Marty Gallagher, Sun Tan Supply, Cleveland Ohio, and Kevin Apgar, Cosmedico Light, Weymouth, Massachusetts, to fill the unexpired terms created when Chip Stroud, American Sun Systems, and Jerry Frank Cosmedico Light, resigned. “With the appointment of Marty Gallagher, we will have the wisdom of six new voices,” Overstreet added. “All of these individuals have worked very hard to build this industry and I know the ITA will be well served with them on the board”. Once again, the ITA would like to congratulate those who were elected and thank everyone who participated in this year’s election. |

| Leasing VP Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Ohio Posts: 1,924 | They are all VERY strong and qualified salon members, and with the POSSIBLE exception of Dan Caskey (only because he is somewhat less well known perhaps, although he is fabulous!), the expected winners. The seats in the other sectors were also captured by very strong candidates. The combined newcomers and veterans are all strong advocates for our industry. Berman updates have been part of every ITA Board meeting since LAST Nashville. I've seen them all and reported on them all on-line. I'm sure this will be just as insightful. All 9 candidates were asked to answer questions from salon owners but only Rick & Ann chose to do so. Aside from my questions Don was the only other person to ask a question. You and a couple others made a comment or two. I don't think the average salon owner really cares about the association. |

| Moderator/Arbonne VP | I do. I just feel there was anything to comment on about it. We'll see what happens over the next year. Just because people aren't commenting doesn't mean we're not paying attention or reading. One comment I will make it that I think the information from the candidates came out late. I got my ballot one day and sent it back the next. Over the next 2 weeks I got emails and letters from most of the candidates. Too late for me. __________________ ![]() Please talk to me if you would like to bring a great line of skin care into your salon. CLICK HERE to learn more. YES! What you use on your skin DOES matter! | Moderator | You know you are probably correct on this. Sad but true. It would be nice if some of the new elected board members would post and let some of us know what to expect in the upcoming year. Only 2 of the people I voted for got elected. I think Vince would have made a great board member too. I know some of them come here. HELLO??? |

| Moderator | Kathe some of mine came a little late too. A call even came after I had sent in my ballot but I had voted for him anyway. |

![]() What was so successful about it? Everyone left in the industry is sucking wind more then ever before. If its ever been said before, tanning is in serious trouble and it is on skid row. All this campaign is doing is making things worse. Keep poking that hornets nest Rick Berman, you are doing a fine job at that. ![]() Vitamin D is not the avenue to take on this.

I will gladly give more money to the ITA, however I want to make sure the money is put to good use and that I am not the only one who is contributing. For me, a really sound starting point is this question: Why should a salon owner belong to the ITA?
