Has anyone seen this RIDICULOUS commerical from the AAD? Saying how bad tanning is for you, increases your chances of getting MELANOMA, blah blah all the same stuff we fight all the time! It ends with saying how INDOOR TANNING IS OUT!

Thats their come back to the Berman Campaign. The stakes are higher now then they have ever been. We must continue to be on the attack instead of always on the defense. The Demoterrorists are taking it up a notch. We either bring the heat back to them or we get burned. I think we all know the Berman Campaign is a long term strategy. I hope the wallets open up again like last year. Be there at the ITA Meeting.

Not really, they know that this is the yime of year that everyone is broke and they are just trying to keep out any last stragglers and shut it down for good.

You think so? I dunno..

Summer vacation tanning is winding down.. and as we all know alot of people aren't thinking about indoor tanning anymore..

I dunno.. I just thought this would pack more punch at a different time.. of course they could be using this time to test/perfect their message for their 2009 tanning season assault..

They will be consistent all year. We also need to be consistent all year too, not just during busy season. This is not the same thing as advertising, it is retraining. Apparently there are half the funds left from the campaign and that should be spent on continuing the message now while the next years donations are collected, not sit around until next March to put out more media. It must be a constant flow or it doesn't make any impact and any ground that was gained is lost and will need to be reconquered.

Yeah it'd be nice I guess.. but I'd rather the ITA sit and collect interest on their campaign funds than go out and continue being stupid.. incompetent consistency is worse than doing nothing..

If I was playing the Armchair ITA GM game (the most boring game idea ever), I would have fired Berman and looked for someone else.. obviously they've decided to give him another chance..

Hopefully they've also grown a pair and rather than just being happy to have someone willing to work for them, they should be a bit more firm with Berman about achieving results for the money he's paid..

I believe this may be a PSA (public service announcement), and therefore running for free.

Timing - during college football - is aimed at college students, who transition back from outdoor tanning to indoor tanning this time of year.

I would suspect the timing is directly related to the study results released this week that 25% of undergraduates in a study at a Virgina college were found to be "addicted" to tanning according to their response to a survey. Associated with Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philly, sponsored by the National Cancer Institute - it has legs.

Could be Sheri. Our local stations did their own Stand Up To Cancer before the national show aired. And of course they attacked cigarettes and tanning.
