| I have read so many great things on this site, I want to thank all of you who share your knowledge and experience. I was wondering if I could get Bios from some or all of you. For example: Brian must be an electrical engineer. Could you tell us newbies about yourselves, affiliations with Co. or Co. of your own? Just to name a few: Brian Frankie Jim Fisher Island Cove Din Nature Boy Kathe Alan Sunsally and many more. Thanks to all of you for your help in making a bad season better. |

Our first bio was on Din; you can check it out here: The Mod Squad. I know that doesn't help with the rest quite yet, but more will be added! __________________ Danielle Maheux Managing Editor, LOOKING FIT magazine www.lookingfit.com www.tanningtraining.com |

Alan, "How long have you been involved with the tanning industry?" Are you a fishing enthusist or just like the picture with your name "ADMINISTRATOR"? What part of the country do you live in? How did you become the administrator of Tantoday? That is kinda what I meant. |

Alan was clarifying your list of who is a Mod. You didn't specify that you wanted Bio's of other members as well as the thread is called Mod Bios. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity. | Checks and Balances Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Maryland Posts: 6,163 | My name is Alan Moore and I am the guy that started THIS TanToday community. There was a former owner of this site who ran it to dominance for 5 years before it crashed and burned. I bought the domain name, rebuilt the community structure and started marketing the site to salon owners and industry people. 3 years later, I sold the site to Virgo who keep me around to Admin the site with my co-host Judie, Looking Fit's editor. My wife owned a salon for about 2 years before closing up shop. While I love the industry, and fighting for it, we simply didnt like the day to day operations which, as most know, can be stressful to the point where you say enough. We had enough of those days and when the lease was up, so was our salon ownership time. I loved the marketing aspect of it given that I own a marketing company so I carried on marketing TanToday from a one person site to a flourishing Award Winning Community with the help of a few thousand of my closest, and some not so closest, industry peoples. Enjoy the site! __________________ Alan"America is too great for small dreams" - Ronald Reagan |

| All Star Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 117 | I am a newbie, small salon, small town. Have learned more on this site than anywhere else. Everyone are such pros on here, I feel I have very little to offer. I have come to have a huge respect for the contributors on this forum. I would love to sit and listen to them give seminars. I am just trying to keep the money coming in by giving the best service I can with a smile. Thanks for asking. My back ground is in commercial real estate, retail. This is a big change, the only thing that helps is lease negotiations. My husband was in the car audio business for over 25 years, he had three locations. Thanks |

| All Star Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 117 | My husband has a car was now. I am really sorry if I offended anyone in asking for bios. Someone asked for the lurkers to come out an introduce ourselves, so I did. As a newbie I don't know or recognize anyones names or know who they are. I read the hot discussions about HP's and realize different beds or sold by individuals. I wasn't trying to be intrusive, just trying to learn more about the individuals who help all of us, not just the mods. Jesse with 22 years of experience is great, Kathe represents Arbonne, loads of experience always helps with encouragement and wisdom. I could go on and on. In my experience people with knowledge usually charge for it, never willingly help other people in the same business/competition for the free. These individuals that help us, spend their time giving us answers to our questions, which I know some of mine are very ridiculus, those people I want to know about. If they have businesses, I want to work with them, they are the people I want helping me succeed. I apologize for any offense, I will go back to lurking. Hope to meet some of you in Nashville, I will recognize Kathe, Brian, and now Din. |

| Smartass Canuck Moderator Join Date: Feb 2005 Location: Canada Posts: 9,090 | You didn't offend anybody, we were just clarifying who the Mods were. if you want bios on others, that is a great thing i believe as it makes us a closer online community. Something you have to remember though, is that a lot of people's competition is on here, so if they start telling you their life story, sometimes they don't want their close comp. to know squat. As for my bio, before i became a salon owner, i was Operations Manager for some of Canada's big airlines that are no longer running....was a fun job with great traveling perks. I grew up doing all the marketing for my dad's businesses. So i was in marketing since i was very young. Since being an entrepreneur is in my blood, besides going into the tanning industry, we managed to combine our other skills into the industry we have all have come to love and hate which is TANNING! If i grew up marketing and advertising all our different family businesses, why not incorporate it into the industry we're in now....so Chronos Marketing was formed. Before the Airlines i was successfully running all the family businesses which ranged from Gas Station, Coin-Op Car Wash, Restaurant, X-Ray/Ultrasound Lab, Fruit Market & Deli, Mini Market, Dry Cleaners, Laundromat/Video Store, International Import & Export Company as well as the Strip Mall in which some of these businesses were in. So as you can see, entrepreneur is who i am and always will be. So i've been running family businesses since i was 10yrs old. I think that's why i've learned over the years to think with your head and not with your heart when it comes to business if you want to be successful. And my other famous words to live by that were taught to me when i was a kid by dear ol' dad....FAKEM. Keep both of those with you and you will be successful. There you have it. __________________ ![]() www.ChronosMarketing.com ____________________________________________ The problem nowadays is stupidity.
