It's been $3.99 in the little town I'm in for almost 1.5 weeks. It never went over $4 when that was the going rate in ATL but it also hasn't gone down.

I'm in Oklahoma City gas prices fluctuate daily here. Gas dropped from $3.25 yesterday to $3.11 today. I know a few people in the oil and gas (NG) biz and they are getting a little nervous with the big drop in oil prices.

Gas is down to 2.08. My Sept. and Oct. customer counts are down but the customers that are coming in are spending more. With gas prices reaching 2 year lows this should put extra cash in peoples pockets. Are your tanners spending more?

Paid $2.45 here yesterday. At the same gas station - the day before it was $2.55. So its defiantely coming down.

I had heard OKL and I think it was KS had the lowest gas prices. Wonder why?

We are closer to oil refineries, we get our gas quicker. In Okc it seems there is a gas station at every corner so it is very competitive and our taxes on gas are low. In Texas there are places that are under $2.

Being closer to the refineries has nothing or at least very little to do with it. I'm about 3 hours away from MAJOR refineries on the gulf and we are still paying $2.75-2.99 around here.

I am 10 min away from several refineries and I am paying $2.60-2.80. Go across the bridge to NJ or down to DE and it is cheaper by a good $.10-.20 a gal.

DIstribution has nothing to do with prices.

What tanners? j/k

Gas dropped another .06 cents here today, now $2.68.

Thing is, everyone is already broke or scarred to spend what they have left. Between the oil prices and the mortgage fallouts we are already ruined. IMHO

Will it get any better after the election? Time will tell, eh?

Think back a couple of years ago when gas was $2.50 a gallon and we were all like "Damn, gas is $2.50 a gallon" and now gas is $2.50 a gallon and we are like "Yay, gas is $2.50 a gallon".

What a difference a couple of years of abuse does. We are such suckers. We think we are all getting such a bargain right now when the same exact price a couple of years ago had us all up in arms.

Baaaaahhhhhh says the sheep.

Being close to the refineries has nothing to do with the prices. New Jersey has the largest stockpile of fuel in the Country and it does not have the lowest prices but we are better then a lot of other states.

Brian they might have a lot of but there is a hell of a lot more consumers in that part of the country to provide for.

You most likely dont notice but there are distribution terminals all over the country. Just because you are not next to a refinery doenst mean you arent close to an outlet. So again, distribution is NOT the reason for prices for the most part. THe only exception is when the pipelines are shut down for hurricaines, leaks, etc.

The reason why the prices vary so much from place to place is 1. Demand, 2. Franchise fees, and 3. Govt taxes and fees.

I was listening to the radio on the way home. I just caught a little bit of it but they were talking about 2 stations that were having a gas war and gas was $1.99. Who would have thunk it.
